Ehhh I still need to get their last two albums before I get this one.

The problem is that its impossible to be a casual mars volta fan. You have to devote 2 hours to listneing to one album, and listen to it alot to get the flow to it.

A friend gave this to me for my birthday.

I have not yet listened to it, specifically because of the energy required to do so. Tomorrow, maybe.

A friend gave you a burned CD for your birthday?

How sweet of them.

Considering it's a relatively new friend from whom I expected nothing, it actually was kind of sweet.

Part of a bigger present, also.

He's trying to get in your pants.

Probably. I'm okay with that.

I really like "Since We've be Wrong"

A little slow but its a change from the fast paced stuff. This album has a big shoes to follow after 2 great albums in "Deloused in the Comatorium" and "The Bedlam in Goliath". Although I did like "Frances the Mute" and "Amputechture" those 2 are not their best work.

See, I can listen to AtDI, in the car, at work, or casually on the computer.

But I need to clear my thoughts, set everything aside, and concentrate to appreciate almost any Mars Volta song beyond their first CD. They are like pre dark side Pink Floyd in that respect. More like one big song instead of an album.
Not scoffing them, just wish I had the patience to listen to them more.

I admit I have to be in a mood to listen to them but its not as hard as you make it out to be. Yeah ATDI was easier to listen too I agree. Then again I spend a lot of time in the car or with my ipod so I have time to give the full album a total listen.
