SAN ANTONIO -- An autographed collectible jersey belonging to San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker has been recovered after being stolen from the NBA All-Star's home, said Bexar County Sheriff's investigators.
Christopher James Carolan, 22, revealed the name of the person who purchased an autographed jersey from former NBA superstar Michael Jordan. Carolan allegedly listed the jersey on Craigslist on May 18, according to a sheriff's department news release, and was subsequently recovered. Carolan was previously an employee of a security company contracted to provide services at Parker's home, the release stated.
Carolan resigned from his position with Price Security Company on May 21, the day before the jersey was listed online. The suspect was arrested on an unrelated burglary warrant and interviewed, the release stated. He is currently in the Bexar County jail on the unrelated burglary charge on a $20,000 bond. A warrant has been issued for theft in the Parker case and Carolan is awaiting magistration, the release stated.
The jersey was listed on Craigslist for $500 or best offer, but sheriff's investigators said the jersey has a value of $20,000.
The jersey was returned to Parker's possession Thursday, sheriff's investigators said.
