View Full Version : You know maybe there is some truth to Kobe being a Final's choker

'04 he played awful. '08 he played awful. And in '09 he has had 3 consecutive awful closing 4th quarters.

It's hard for me to compare this guy to any of the greats when he can't get it done when it counts. Great regular season player, but he has yet to show he can do it when it matters most.

The funny thing is though if Kobe wins a championship this season I don't think he'll ever choke again in the Finals.

The monkey will be off his back.

First time we've seen Kobe have 2 bad games in a row this playoffs. Fisher was the man, he was playing like garbage all the way up to the finals but this is where he makes his money I guess. Anyways, Kobe needs to start shooting more jumpers as sad as that seems because its so smooth; He's not 24 anymore and he doesn't have the speed to force the refs to bail him out at the rim.

Kobe is going to be the lamest Finals MVP since .... damn I couldn't even come up with a lamer Finals MVP.

Peyton Manning winning SB MVP for sucking less than Rex Grossman is probably the only thing worse.

Good point. Kobe, like Manning, was destined to win MVP no matter what. Gasol could have average 40 and 15 and Kobe would still have gotten it.

It'd be pretty funny if Ariza won the MVP.

wow everyone holds Kobe up to standards that just aren't fair. He played amazing this series...honestly I couldn't tell he was shooting bad by his play

I guess if you are used to watching TMac, 11-for-31 in a big game is about par . . .

I couldn't agree anymore, he has been pretty horrible the last three games when it counts the most. Derek Fisher is the finals MVP, I hope Kobe doesn't get it.

Fuck T-Mac.

I meant he attracting so much attention...and he hit key shots. The reason for his crappy % was b.c he was actually getting fouled on a lot of plays but they weren't calling it.

Again, I am not a lakers fan so take it for what it's worth.

Good insight. I've said it for a while now, Kobe's field goal % takes a huge hit when they never give Kobe a call. He only shot 35% but if you take 6 or 7 shots away from his field goal attempts that he missed because he was clearly fouled he would've shot 45%.

Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 32 points and eight assists, his 63rd career 30-point playoff game (most among active players). He has recorded eight or more assists in six straight playoff games, becoming the second Laker (Magic Johnson) to accomplish the feat.

I'm assuming you didn't watch it then. Whether or not the Lakers as a franchise have gotten favorable calls in games before doesn't negate the fact that the Magic got almost EVERY call tonight and the Lakers won regardless.
