"It's like looking at somebody who's been in a concentration camp, if you've seen (photographs of) people who've been in the concentration camps," Bobby Schindler told reporters. "It's absolutely horrible.

Then yesterday after 12 days of no food and water her father laid this one on the public:


"Under the circumstances, she looks darn good, surprisingly good," Bob Schindler said after visiting his daughter Wednesday afternoon. "I'm asking that nobody throw in the towel as long as she's fighting, to keep fighting with her," he said.

Ok, so 5 days after we're told she looks as if she were in a concentration camp, she is now looking "darn good." Huh?

Now they want the public and media to assume that Terri, even though she's gone without water ang for almost two weeks is using will power not to die, So she must want to live!

I'm sick and tired of these people thinking their so goddamn important, that their brain dead daughters/sisters life is so important that they can waste the Governments time, tax payers money, and taking the media's focus off of other real important events happening in the world.

FACT: There was never an MRI or PET scan done on Terri's brain - so there was no conclusive evidence to back up the allegations that her brain was mush. Also, there were several doctors who disagreed with the diagnosis of her being in a persistent vegitative state.

Did you hear the video tape released by the family just recently - it has Terri's father asking her if different parts of her body hurt - she answers each question. Does that sound like someone who is "non-functioning?"

CRANFORD: Well it shows extremely severe atrophy. Where those black areas are, that should be white. That should be cerebral cortex, and so really there is no cerebral cortex left. It's just a shrinkage of the cerebral cortex. It's a thin band of white on the outside and any neurologist or any radiologist looking at those CT scans will tell you that her atrophy could not be more severe than it is. So even if she were mentally conscious, which she's not, she's irreversible. She's been like this for 15 years, Dan, and that CT scan shows the most extreme severe atrophy of the higher centers of the brain.

ABRAMS: And what about those who say that there should have been more tests? That she's never had a PET scan. That she needs another MRI.

CRANFORD: Well she doesn't need an MRI because a MRI will not show any more damage than this C.T. and you can again check with any radiologists. They'll tell you this CT scan is more than adequate.

If Dr. Cranford is saying that the CT scan by itself is sufficient to diagnose PVS, then he is lying. Neurologists aren't going to rely on radiology alone to make such a diagnosis. Radiology is just one tool.

If Dr. Cranford is saying that other methods of radiology aren't going to shed any additional light on a prospective diagnosis, assuming a competent neurologist has done the other tests and obervation on the patient, then that makes sense.

For a person to be brain dead, the diagnosis comes from their brain stem, not the crebral cortex because a person can function with a messed up cc. No one has ever claimed she is in a brain dead state.

The diagnosis has been of a PVS, Persistant Vegitative State.
