L.A. Fans Warm Up for Championship With Mini-Riot After Game 4

I never understood why fans tend to celebrate their team's championships by causing destruction and mayhem in the city in which they live, but it's an unfortunate tradition that appears to be still going strong -- at least in Los Angeles.

An estimated crowd of 2,000 excited fans poured into the streets of East L.A. on Thursday night, to celebrate the Lakers' Game 4 win, one which put the team on the brink of taking home their fourth championship in the last 10 years.

Fans were seen stopping traffic and shaking cars, before the Sheriff's Department and the Highway Patrol stepped in to disperse the rowdy crowd.

Naturally, this was all captured on video, which can be seen after the jump.

It was live all over my local news after the game. I get the celebrate a big win with fellow fans, but I don't get the destruction either.

LAPD get your teargas ready. You'll need it.

I think they reported that they'll have extra forces out Sunday so if the Lakers wrap it up they'll be ready.

Not surprised. 2001 Was much tamer than 2000. LAPD weren't ready at all for it that year. They knew what to expect(At least in Downtown) in 2001, so they controlled it. It was still pretty fucked up everywhere else though.

Have you ever stared at the flame? It has this silent beauty Yhere's something to be said about the flame after you can create it, and then decide whether or not you want to snuff it out and let it spread. As it spreads it consumes all in it's path, and while you were once its master it has taken on a freedom of it own. You can almost hear it calling to you, thanking you.
