Former Spur Reggie Geary has been hired as an assistant men's basketball coach at SMU.

Here is the story on the SMU website:

Geary was a 6-foot-2 guard from Arizona. He played for the Spurs during the 1997-98 season - Tim Duncan's rookie season. Geary played in 62 games and averaged 2.5 points and 1.2 assists.

He was a second-round draft pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1996.

Real good pick up for SMU. I use to play ball with him at Full Life Fitness Center and he worked with my son a few times with ball handling drills. I think he'll be a very good coach.
