I haven't seen this discussed yet. Surely there is a player they are targeting specifically around this spot. Who are your thoughts on who it might be?
Obviously Harden, but not worth Ginobili

I think Harden will be gone by 5. Probably Jordan Hill.

I too think Harden is gone by then and would assume Hill. Good big men are hard to come by.

When did the Spurs get the #5 pick? They do not have the #5 pick. So why even speculate?
" so why even speculate?"
I don't speculate about this thing and don't like to, but i don't understand why you ask this question
Of course people will speculate about this, and legitimely, because
1/ it's summer time, need food for thought
2/ this one is not that bad of a food ; hot topic has been the probability of gettin' the 5
So, I'd understand your question if someone was speculatin out of the blue about the 16th or 21st pick, but that's not the case

Maybe the idea of pursuing number 5 is based on the notion of being able to deal that pick to get something else.
I don't think the Spurs can get a pick that high without giving up a talent like Manu, and I don't think the Spurs would give up Manu to get that pick in this draft.

probably due to the multiple sources that spurs are shopping for a top pick. PERSONALLY , i think the spurs are just doing due diligence to see what opportunities are out there.

Harden or Hill
which even further solidifies the stupidity of giving up manu with the #5 as the best asset they get back.

Pipe Dream expectations. NBA sixth man of the season as a worst case scenario? I laugh at that
I agree with the best case/worst case part. That guy can play.
