View Full Version : And so the trend continues...
In the past 30 years and counting, a total of 8 teams have won the NBA championship.
Celtics, Lakers, Bulls, Spurs, Pistons, Rockets, 76ers, and Heat. Miami and Philadelphia were the only teams with a single title in that time span.

If it wasn't for .4, the Manu Foul, the Fisher Non-Call, and the Olympics, Spurs could just be wrapping up their elevenpeat.

Since 1999, either the Lakers (3-peat plus this 4th one) or the Spurs have won the championship. The only teams that won b/t those two were the Pistons, Heat and Celtics.
Another trend I noticed this past ten years, after the lakers 3-peat, that each conference won the championship every other year:Spurs-2003 (west), pistons-2004 (east), spurs-2005 (west), heat-2006 (east), spurs-2007 (west), boston-2008 (east) and Lakers-2009 (west), next year....is the east or do the Lakers repeat............looks as if the cycle may come full circle. :king
