Walter Berry at the age of 23 and 24 averaged 17.5 ppg and 5.4 rpg for the Spurs over two seasons. In the playoffs at the age of 23 he averages 22 ppg and 7 rpg.

Alvin Robertson does not get much due for his game, either. Michael Jordan said he was one of the top 5 best defensive guards he ever played against.

Louie Dampier had been a 20 point per game guy in the ABA, and was the ABA's all-time 3-point leader. He made 199 3-pointers one season.

Ron Brewer averaged almost 18 ppg for the Spurs one season, and may hold the all-time record for most consecutive mid-season trades - 6 seasons in a row.

Mike Mitchell averaged 20+ points and 6 boards in his first 4-5 seasons with the Spurs.

Don't forget D'antoni's assistant, and coach of the Memphis Grizzlies, Mark Iavaroni.

Kevin Duckworth played part of a season here. He had some really good years in Portland.

The incredibly overrated Ira Newble played his first season here.

Sleepy Floyd played one season (more than he should have) here.

Dale Davis spent a couple of seasons here. He was still pretty damned good, but past his prime.

We had our own version of Sean Bradley one season - the 7'5" Chuck Nevitt.

Will Perdue. Pop once asked Will Perdue if he could pass a basketball. Perdue said, "Coach, if I can swallow it, I can pass it."

Chucky Brown played 13 lackluster years in the league. For some reason, the Spurs paid him to play one of them here. Ditto Mark Bryant.

Jaren Jackson had one good season, scored a big contract, and retired while still on the roster.

Did anyone mention that Luis Scola almost played here?

Sleepy Floyd, what a smooth nickname.

Would love to see that game where he scored 29 in the first quarter, 39 in the half, ending it with 12 consecutive buckets in the 4th for a 51 point total.

Did David Greenwood and Terry Cummings play on the same team? That would be friggin hilarious..sounds like 2 porn stars

To answer your question. Yes, yes they did. They were on the 1990-1991 team. The Spurs acquired Greenwood in a trade I believe from Detroit prior to that season. We were on pace to win 60 games at least until Rod Strickland broke his hand during a fight at a bar in late January. He missed a month and we struggled down the stretch. but still won the Midwest Division. We all then know what happen in the playoffs against Golden State.
