http://www.realgm.com/images/nba/4.2/profiles/photos/2006/Bryant_Kobe_lal.jpg Dwyane Wade believes that Kobe Bryant is the best player in basketball today, but says that no one is better than Michael Jordan.
"I believe that Kobe Bryant is still the best player in the game, his experience and his overall talent. It's not taking away from LeBron, it's not taking away from Carmelo, it's not taking away from myself," Wade told ESPN Radio Chicago. "Kobe has been in the game longer than the rest of us, he's older than us, he's smart with the game. He's the better player."
Wade went on to praise Jordan as the greatest player ever.
"To me growing up and watching Michael Jordan and knowing everything that he's done for our game. Even Kobe would say you don't want to be compared to that guy. I mean, Jordan is the best that we've seen in our time and a lot of people are going to see for many years to come. But Kobe Bryant is exceptionally great in his own matter. All the things he's been through over the last seven years, for him to get his fourth ring, I think a lot of people were pulling for him to do that. Orlando, I think a lot of people were surprised they made it there but they haven't been through nothing yet so you know this kind of team, if they would have won, there would have been a lot of teams and a lot of veterans that played in the league would have been mad about that. I think that everyone is happy that Kobe, the great player that he is, got his fourth ring," Wade added.

Comparing any player to MJ isn't fair. The man is basketball god.

MJ needed help, LeBron needs it to. In the Magic series he was taking it on himself every single possesion to score and defend, which will not get it done in a 7 game series, got to have guys there to help you with the dirty work. When the Lakers got Gasol, Kobe had help. I agree, he could go on to be the best in the NBA.

Too soon for this sort of talk because Kobe is still getting better. Let's wait until he peaks before getting too crazy.

Comparisons between Jordan and any other NBA player ever can only be considered Bulls-hit.

Are you mad? Kobe's peak was 2006, though he's still in his prime.

Kobe is in his prime right now, and I don't see him going any higher. Nobody will ever surpass MJ

I am sure all the players in the league are thrilled that Kobe "you can't guard me" Bryant won.

Jordan is the standard...... Kobe will remain in that #2 spot. MJ is the greatest player to ever lace them up....tough shoes to fill.

Probably the first time I've agreed with you.

Kobe is the closest thing to MJ right now. Jordan brought way more defensive intensity on a nightly basis. Kobe is capable but he doesn't bring it all the time. I remember being a kid watching Jordan on TBS and he brought it EVERY night. At least it seemed like every night. His pre-baseball retirement form in like 1993 was the best I've ever seen not only in basketball but ANY team sport on any level.

Dwight Howard is going to be one of the best players ever, IMO. This guy isn't near his peak. If he can get a decent offensive game, he will DEFINITELY be a force to be reckoned with.

remember the time when kobe acts just like jordan on the court (in between plays)

Even during plays.

I heard he's working on an article where he claims Kareem has the best sky hook.
