NEW: Man with pellet gun killed by hit-and-run driver

Police say a van fled the scene of a fatal hit-and-run accident late Thursday night in the middle of eastbound Interstate 10.
An unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene sometime after the incident occurred at 11:45 p.m., San Antonio Police Department Sgt. David Evans said.
The man was walking in the center lane on the upper level of I-10, before the Culebra Road exit, when a black van allegedly struck him and hurled him into the median, according to two witnesses.
The van stopped momentarily before leaving the location.
The victim was carrying a pellet gun, Evans said.
