The Bucks have flipped Fabricio Oberto to the Pistons in exchange for Amir Johnson, according to a source.
Oberto was acquired by Milwaukee from San Antonio earlier on Wednesday.
RealGM Note: The move will save Detroit in their salary cap space pursuits, as Oberto's contract is non-guaranteed.

Good chance Detroit releases Fab. Don't be surprised if he is in camp!

Ah, what a day it was for Fabricio Orberto, atleast he has a championship ring if he dosent come back to the Spurs or any other teambecause of his health, he could probably go back to play in Argentina.

Cap space. If they cut him before July 1st they get an extra $1.9 mil of cap space.

Earlier someone here posted that Detroit would be sending cash to the Spurs as part of the three way deal that landed us RJ. Has anyone come across how much?

I've read conflicting reports about whether or not it was a 3 team deal, or whether Milwaukee and Detroit made their own deal after the Milwaukee-SA deal was complete. In either case, the cash would be going to Milwaukee, not San Antonio.

Thanks for the clarification.

Herb Rudoy, Oberto’s agent, said it was premature to speculate whether his client would return to San Antonio, but he wouldn’t rule it out.
Bowen and Oberto might be coming back.

Spurs.com has it as a 3-team deal.

Fair enough. I hadn't checked there. ESPN was saying 3 team and Yahoo was saying Oberto-Johnson was a separate deal.
Still, if there is cash in the deal it's going to be going from Detroit to Milwaukee to compensate the Bucks for the extra salary they're taking on by giving up Oberto's partially guaranteed salary for Johnson's full guarantee. Heisting Richard Jefferson is enough. Detroit's not going to give us cash on top of it.
