Source: Favre Will Be At Vikings' Training Camp

http://llnw.image.cbslocal.com/30/2007/10/16/75x56/MarkRosen.jpg Reporting
Mark Rosen (http://wcco.com/bios/mark.rosen.anchor.9.313448.html)
(WCCO)

Barring some unforeseen major physical setback, Brett Favre will be at training camp in Mankato when they open up the end of July, a source has told WCCO's Mark Rosen.

That source said that Favre and the Vikings have indeed come to a contractual agreement, with heavy incentives. The Vikings equipment manager has already ordered number 4 purple jerseys with his name on it.

However, on Sunday, Favre's longtime agent, Bus Cooke denied a report that was out there that Favre and the Vikings had come to an agreement.

What isn't known is when this will be officially announced. Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress is in Alaska fishing this week with his good friend, Eagles head coach, Andy Reid.

ProFootballTalk.com speculated the announcement will come Fourth of July weekend, when a lot of media folks are on vacation to minimize the circus atmosphere.

John David Booty is currently wearing number 4, but not for long. Rosen said he believes the Vikings will keep Booty. The logical man to try and move would be Tavaris Jackson with Sage Rosenfels backing Favre up and ready to take over if Favre can't get the job done.

I don't think this comes to a surprise to any of us. He wanted to come back, and now he has. Maybe finally the media will stop the Favre stories for awhile.

They are not the favorites just cause they got an overrated interception throwing Mississippi brother fucking faggot. That redneck douche is going to make their team worse. Won't even make the playoffs, book it.

It would be hard to disagree with that. I still think it's wide open in the NFC, but this definitely gets them at or near the top of contenders.

They are the favorites, imo. Like you said, he just has to not fuck up. He isn't throwing to Cotchery/Coles or Jennings/Driver anymore, but he has as good a line as anyone, a dominating D, and Adrian Peterson behind him.

I don't think the Vikings will throw the ball nearly as much as the Jets did last year. But your right, it does seem inevitable.

His line isn't as good as it used to be w/ Matt Birk gone. Also that D is anything but dominating.

It would probably better if me and you switched places in that scenario Cards fan :p:....actually I'm sure of it :lol. Both teams would have to get there 1st, and I have no idea what the hell my team is going to look like to be honest with the coaching/personnel turnover and question marks in the health department, but we SHOULD definitely be better than 4-12. Don't know if Favre's arm will hold up though.

I know that San Francisco is still a joke and if any team is going to out do the Cardinals in the division, it's going to be the Seawhawks. Both the Seawhawks and Cards have major questions, Seattle will be way better than 4-12 but AZ might turn out better than 9-7. Getting rid of Clancy Penderghast and litting Whiz turn the defense into a blitzing 3-4 is going to help the team a lot.

Arizona may very well have the best secondary in the NFC to top matters off which scares me with the question marks we have at the WR position....hopefully Housh, Burleson, John Carlson, and the like can put my fears to rest. I also hope Kurt's fumble problems resurface and Whiz outthinks himself in taking over the offensive play calling. Beenie Wells also scares the hell out of me, but hopefully Lofa and Curry can keep him in check a bit.

I too think it comes down to AZ and SEA....San Fran still has no REAL QB and a suspect O-Line to boot and the Rams will be rebuilding for some time. Hate to admit it, but if any playoff newcomer from last season looks like they're here to stay it's the Cards.

DUNCANownsKOBE2
06-27-2009, 01:45 AM
Kurt's fumble problems are gone now that he's wearing gloves. San Fran is overrated cause everyone thinks singletary is going to turn them into a powerhouse but they still suck.

Well hopefully he starts to hold the ball low again and increases the likelihood of strippage.

I'm torn with the Singletary situation. I like the guy a lot....he actually came to my High School around 2000 or so and gave a pretty good speech (managed to keep me woke). I like his mentality and no-nonsense approach to coaching (especially with some of the primadonnas they have on that team). I don't want to see him fail, but no way in hell do I want to see the Niners get better....especially Crabtree who we passed up for Curry. I'm glad we passed "The Crab" up, but if he plays decent enough to contribute to the team's success folks like me will never here the end of it from the majority of the Hawks' fanbase that wanted to bring him in.

However, if the Seahawks winning leads to Mike's firing, I'd get over it pretty quickly :lol, and would hope he'd get another opportunity in the AFC....maybe with a team like Jacksonville or Buffalo.
