Actor Johnny Depp Leaves Waiter $4K Tip
Updated: Wednesday, 24 Jun 2009, 7:13 PM EDT
CHICAGO, MyFOX ATLANTA) - Actor Johnny Depp gave a waiter in Chicago the tip of a lifetime. Gibson's restaurant in Chicago has catered to the stars for years. But no one, not even the likes of Elizabeth Taylor or Frank Sinatra has left a tip as big as Johnny Depp.
Mohammed Sekhani has spent 20 years at Gibson's and has waited on Depp many times before.
"Last Thursday night, this was my seventh encounter with the big guy," said Sekhani.
Sekhani said Depp spent the event at the Chicago screening for his new film, "Public Enemies." Depp went to Gibson's late with an entourage that included his co-stars Marian Cotillard and Christian Beal. Depp told the waiter to just take care of the ordering.
"He loves casino, clams casino, Alaska king crab legs and we did shrimp cocktail,' said Sekhani.
The restaurant served Depp's party seafood and wine until 2:30 in the morning and when the final tab arrived, there was a $4,000 tip for Sekhani.
"So $4,000 was what percent? One hundred percent," said Sekhani.
Sekhani didn't say how he planned to spend his big tip, but the next time Depp visits the Chicago eatery, chances are every waiter will be fighting for the table.
