1) Make sure acrobat works with something else.

2) Check for the latest version. Maybe the document requires a newer release than yours.

3) If 1 & 2 are OK, maybe the file you are trying to open is corrupt. Have it resent.

I'm not really a computer expert, but try that is you haven't yet.

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL twice really fast.

That will unlikely be the fix, but it is possible.

How big is the file? I've seen some computers choke on large .pdf files. And it is actually a .pdf file, not Framemaker, or something else by adobe. Right?

I cannot get it to work.

I e-mailed the person and asked me to send it in a different form.
My work gets invoices all the time. I can try having our Office Admin open it for me on her computer.

Thanks for the help Wild Cobra.

would have been more helpful if you had told us what error message you were getting... maybe would have avoided some of the smart-ass answers you got...

I've see .pdf files not open before with no error messages. I immediately assumed that was the same thing for Angel.

Here's a thought. Try opening it through your browser, using an address like this:

file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Chuck/My%20Documents/2008%20debt%20report%20d0944.pdf

Just make sure you use the appropriate path. Either type it in, or use the open file option of your browser. It's a longshot, but maybe it will open that way.

Also, keep in mind that if it's a large .pdf file and you're on a relatively old computer, it could take minutes to open.

Thanks guys! I was able to open the file at my work. It must be a glitch with my home computer.

Thanks again!
