View Full Version : Is Mehmet Okur a possibility?

I read an article that indicated that Okur might not be staying in Utah. It quoted Okur as saying that he would take $3-5M less to stay in Utah. He said that he was looking for the best situation for his family, as well as for him. SA has to be a favored destination for a player who is looking at the environment, and not just the maximum pay day.

So is there a possibility of Okur playing one year for the full MLE, with the idea that we could give him a better contract next year, if it works out for both parties? I know it's not likely, but hey - everything else has been going the Spurs' way this off season.

He's not perfect, but anyone who is has a max contract. Would you take Mehmet Okur for the MLE? Would the Spurs even pursue it?

He's good, but he would want a contract of $10 million which we couldn't afford.

I wouldn't mind Okur at all, if he's willing to take less $ of course..

he's actually surprisingly a pretty good 1 on 1 post defender, so that would help out in this system..stretches out the floor, very clutch player..

He's probably going to end up back in utah on a new long term deal. They're fixing to lose Boozer, they don't want to lose Okur too.

He'll get more than the MLE.

Agree. He's too pricy right now. But I can't say I wouldn't want him...

He'll get more than the MLE but he would be a nice option if he were willing to settle for that.
