35m/4 = 8.75m per season

umm wasnt he earning around that price on his previous contract? looks like someone is going to overpay for his services....

Maybe the Magic getting Vince Carter is the reasoning for this? He probably didnt want to go back to Orland because he would have a reduced role. I don't see any teams that could get him.

orlando is fuckd up, they got no depth on their bench

they given away lee and alston for carter....at leasts they wouldve been deep 7 spots...

now if turgo bolts, that leaves a huge spot on their roster in terms of bench production....

I think it's not a good news for SA

The article brings up a good point about Boozer and Howard being close.

I could see a sign & trade involving Boozer for Turkoglu happening. Magic get a rebounding/scoring PF in boozer and Utah gets a scoring SF. Utha can start Milsap at PF, Turkoglu at SF which allows Kirelenko to play more minutes at PF, where he was most effective early in his career as a steal and block machine.

Orlando:
C-Howard
PF-Boozer
SF-Lewis
SG-Carter
PG-Nelson
(SCARY lineup)

Utah
C-Okur
PF-Milsap
SF-Turkoglu
SG-Brewer
PG-Williams
6th Man: Kirilenko

Pistons.

I hope not, and it wouldn't make much sense anyway. Pistons are rebuilding and Hedo is older than Prince. They just drafted three small forwards in the draft and Dumars said all three could likely make the team.

I seriously hope not.

He's not really anything special when he's forced to be a spot us shooter.

$35 million over 4 years (assuming the 10% raises yearly) is maybe a $300,000 raise next season from the pay he just opted out of.

Are the Pistons the only team in line for his services?

I am hearing that Toronto has a lot of interest in Hedo. I believe they have about $10 or $11 M in room under the cap.

I don't see his getting much over that offer unless a team is desperate.

Desperate for Hedo? :lol

I think and I really hope that the Pistons aren't in line for his services.

It makes more sense for Portland. Doesn't make much sense for Detroit.

idk about that, it puts us right back in the mix, but the Lakers still have to be the favourites.

Not if you live in Utah? They have a quota to meet there if they want to keep season ticket holders...:lol

You must be living in 2004. Rasheed Wallace is done. Anyone that signs him for more than 3million is a fool.

Rasheed is an absolute steal even at the full MLE.
Something is seriously wrong when Adam Morrison :lol & Luke Walton :lol can each make $4 mil for riding the bench but sheed can't get 3mil+. The sheed machine is far from done, he just needs a good team where he can become motivated.

lol @ Adam Morrison :lmao

Hedo's a perfect fit in Portland.

Oden/Aldridge/Hedo/Roy/Brooks or Mills

Off the bench: Batum, Rudy, Blake, Pryz, Blake, Bayless

Blazers need to get rid of Travis Outlaw & Martell Webster for a quick PG like Aaron Brooks. Although they just drafted Patrick Mills; maybe he'll work out.

Ima laugh my ass off if he screws around until the teams who want him have all signed other players, and he has to take the MLE from someone.

If Spurs get Rasheed their frontline will be nasty

RJ/Timmy/Rasheed/Gooden/DeJuan Blair

Gasol would get torn up in their. He was crying about physicallity in the Orlando series (who only has 1 legit big man).

Kobe would need a very good series to beat the Spurs and I think he could do that. Im not a big believer in the Spurs backcourt. Manu is great but he gets injured too much and im not a big fan of Tony Parker.

If the Spurs get Rasheed, you can scratch Gooden from that lineup. It's either Gooden or Rasheed (or another FA) but not both.

We do not have Bird Rights on Gooden so to re-sign him we'd need to use the MLE. Only have 1 MLE, so take your pick: Rasheed or Gooden. And no, Rasheed and Gooden will NOT agree to split the MLE to play for th Spurs...
