I would be glad to write it. Heck, I even thought about it.
But I don't think vBulletin has some sort of API (XML or otherwise) that you can hook into to get the data.
Doing HTML hackery doesn't work long term.

I can't buy an Iphone right now becasue I'm not eligible yet to renew my f....... contract :pctoss

Or I would have to buy it at a non-contract price

I'll ask. I did some research before and I didn't find anything for vBulletin as far as some kind of API. Maybe it's in the works.
I also need to know if there's interest for it, and what kind of features would be welcome.

Depends on the complexity. In general programming for the iPhone/iPod Touch has been a pleasure so far. Very friendly API, and Objective C is real easy to work with if you have enough background with other languages.
