Granted this is realgm so it's credibility is doubtful, if this is true, moving Lebron to power forward might be the most stupid thing Cleveland could do following that Shaq trade.

I might be a Shaq fan, but there is no denying that playing power forward when Shaq is center is arguably the most grueling, draining, tiresome defensive job in the NBA. The power forward next to Shaq should be a hustle player that's not needed to create any shots whatsoever on offense. We saw how much of a disaster it was last year when the team's leading scorer was the PF.

IMO, they should be moving Lebron down to 2-guard so he can focus more on scoring and won't be the team's only good perimeter defender on the court, not bumping him up to 4. Who agrees? Who disagrees? IMO the strategy Shaq + 4 perimeter players would be an epic fail.

He won't move to the 4. He will stay as a 3. A big wing is needed to either start or come off the bench.

Cavs need an athletic 2 and an athletic 4. They sign Charlie V, they have their 4. They can maybe deal Z expiring (also assuming Z gets cut and returns back to the Cavs) for a 2.

BLAIR? :lol

they would own him when lebron D's up on them in the post

this is a stupid idea. he's going to lose his explosiveness as a result of constantly being banged up in the post. also, most of his steals were a result of playing the passing lane which he wouldnt be able to do now that he's away from the perimeter. and lebron is mainly a help-side/weak side shot blocker, not strong side. it would also take away that part of his game

Too bad Cleveland can only offer the MLE whereas the Lakers are probably willing to go a few million over that.

The Blair homerism is almost as funny as when Phoenix fans thought DJ Strawberry would put the team over the top.

I'm hearing they are looking to resign Wally so they can trade him and Z away for a contract match with another team. Talk is with the Wizards with Jamison or Butler. Who knows at this point

So TD, do you agree moving him to PF would be incredibly stupid?

I don't really give a shit as long as we win a title and resign James. If we win he doesn't leave so thats really all I care about, I don't give a shit where he plays or what he does

Obviously, my question was are you concerned at all about Cleveland winning a championship if Lebron plays power forward? I want him to stay in Cleveland almost as much as you do, the Knicks get enough attention as a crappy team, they'd get way too much attention if they were actually good.

Would create horrible defensive matchups for LeBron.

Doubt that happens.

I toldja LeBron plays PF and you all thought I was crazy. :D

There ain't a Power Forward in the world that can keep up with LeBron on offense and only a couple who can take advantage of LeBron on defense. LeBron at the 4 can really utilize his speed and at 270 pounds he's big enough to avoid getting abused inside the paint.

Shaq/LeBron with Artest or Outlaw or Batum or Ariza would be a crazy good frontcourt lineup.

So the Cavs want to convince LeBron he can play the four the year before he will ponder leaving for New York and Mike D'Antoni?

Is it really a given that this report means Lebron will start at PF?

It could just as easily be the case that they're just looking for a rotation player for smallball lineups, when Shaq might not even be on the floor.

Agreed, but he tends to be pretty money with that turnaround jumper, mitigating his unwillingness to post up.

He weighs 245 pounds

His listed weight is 250.

I've heard several times by in game announcers and a few media reports that LeBron's 274 pounds and 6'9. I dunno which one is true but I'd guess him to be upwards of 260.

That is fucking stupid. He would get man handled. Lebron's natural position is a 3. They need a 4 or 2

Lebron has not post moves whatsoever and too unreliable a jump shot to be a PF.

He is a perfect wing.
