Terrible "relief" pitching. I had gameday on my computer and watched in disbelief as Masterson, Okajima and Saito who are usually solid, broke down. Delcarmen and Papelbon were alright but Smoltz was probably the best pitcher of the day. Why did Francona take him out?

apparently he hasn't built up his arm for a normal workload yet.

birds have some bats. if 2 of the 3 hyped pitchers in the minors are the real deal, they'll be a force over the next 5 years.

I think he said it had something to do with the hour and 15 minute rain delay.

What is up with Rich Hill? His last two starts have been awful.

I see. I wouldn't have taken him out though. A few games back, the Red Sox jumped on an opposing pitcher and scored 4 runs in the top if the first inning before the rain hit and he let Dice-K come out and pitch (who lost the game even with run support before throwing a pitch)

Yea, But thats because Dice- K didn't pitch already. It was going to the bottom of the 1st so his arm was still nice and fresh. Every Manager takes thier pitcher out during a rain delay usually. I've never seen a manager leave them in.

That'd be fucking n00bdiculous.

the cubs didn't give up rich hill for a bag of balls because he was good.

despite his offseason claims that last year was due to injury and now he's healthy, he still walks the world.

he's just keeping the seat warm until matusz, arrieta, and tillman are ready. no point in starting their clock towards free agency in this season.

and the O's celebrate that 9 run comeback by blowing a 4 run lead in the 9th today.

that is why i root for this team...they mirror my own life in so many ways.

I was totally scratching my head as to why in the world Trembley took out Bergesen? I mean at least let him start the ninth. Boston was probably licking their collective chops when they saw that Trems was taking the ball from Bergesen. When a pitcher is stiffling hitters through 8 innings, you at least give him the chance to finish the game.

When you suck you suck. Boston sucked for one game ,the "O's" will suck all season. :lol
