View Full Version : Ariza isn't necessarily gone from the Lakers if the Lakers get Artest

By getting Artest for just the MLE, this doesn't mean Ariza will sign elsewhere.

His agent was obviously bluffing since there aren't many teams out there that can provide more than the MLE.

If Buss opens up that fat wallet of his, he can bring back Ariza+Odom.

On a $95 million payroll? I doubt it.

You're dreaming, Ariza is gone, sounds like to Houston.

I wish him the best of luck, but he seriously needs to hire a new agent, David Lee fucked him over. You know Trev wanted to stay at home in LA.

Well, at least he has his ring and the money. But, Houston is terribly humid and the dunderheads put butter on everything.

If someone wants Odom bad enough, Lakers could end up losing him too. Probably won't happen though but you never know in this offseason.

Why would Ariza want to come back to LA and get a few scraps of PT.

He's gone. If he were to open up the coffers, upgrading the PG is about 10000x more important then getting a redundant player.

Ariza is an LA product, so he's playing in his hometown, for a championship team while still getting 20 minutes a night.

Ariza wasn't a starter for the Lakers for most of this year. He only averaged 24 mpg, dropping down to 20 wouldn't be a huge sacrifice.

I think it would take alot of coaxing on the Lakers part but I think it's a very real possibility that Ariza just decides to stay. I don't know if Ariza is more interested in $2 million more a year or championships, I guess we'll find out.

And of course, it could be that Buss ain't willing to pay him $6 million a year.

Im gonna laugh my ass off if the Lakers lose both Odom and Ariza and are stuck with Artest....:lmao

That WOULD be laugh worthy :lol

But it ain't gonna happen. Odom is obviously going to be a Laker; I think he was a big recruiter for Ron coming to LA.

But Ariza, maybe not.

MONEY is more important to him than winning another championship in L.A.

Get that through your head.

Having lived in both Houston and LA, that's gotta suck. About the only things the city of Houston can compete with LA on are strip clubs and traffic.

Ariza is pissed right now. You know he didn't want to leave LA. I wish him the very worse. Fuck UCLA.

If Ariza is one dumb mofo he'll sign with LA. If he's smart he'll sign with some team that allows him a bigger role, more playing time and, if he can only get MLE, a 3 or 4 year contract with opt out clauses. With the Lakers he's going to be 6th - 7th banana for the next 3-4 years.

Get THIS through your head. The Lakers STILL are the team that can give him the most money.

Buss still holds the cards....whether or not he decides to pay him is up to him.

Ariza has the ring

Ariza can make money and be a star elsewhere

I don't think him being an Angelino really matters..........

ha,

dumb shit.

Ha, stupid Roxfan as usual.

I wasn't wrong. The Lakers didn't have to part with Ariza to get Artest.

If Ariza goes to the Rockets he would be going for the MLE...same as the Lakers were offering. Lakers could have offered him more, even the $8 million he wanted.

I said it's up to Buss to offer more, he didn't.

Ariza decided to take the MLE in Houston, Buss didn't up his offer.

There is nothing incorrect with what I wrote...

:lol He's gone, dawg. Out of here. He said that he was insulted by the Lakers offer, hell Dr. Buss was insulted that he wanted more. He should be honored to be a player on the NBA Champions Los Angeles Lakers. I wish him well but I think he made a big mistake.

Nothing wrong with hoping. It was a longshot, doable depending on Buss' money and certainly none of it was factually wrong.

Ariza decided to take the Rockets up at the same money he was offered from the Lakers. It wasn't about going to get more money than the Lakers could offer.

I never said Ariza would stay, but I said it was still possible.

I told some dumb shit on clutch fans that Artest was NOT after the biggest offer. Today Artest comes out and says he would play for free.:lmao He wanted to go to LA and probably wished he'd gone to LA last year. He hopes to ride Kobe and Jax to a ring.

It's always nice hoping, oh well, artest swap for ariza should make things interesting at least. And yea someone else said they wonder how artest is going to take kobes yelling, could be some fireworks, probably work out fine, but once artest reaches a certain boiling point there's no stopping him-he hasn't let it out for awhile but it's in there.
