A class of fifth graders in California got a shocking crash course on the birds and the bees courtesy of their teacher and an x-rated home video she accidently included in a DVD of classroom memories.

The error was not caught until after the DVDs were distributed to the students and their families. Parents tell CBS 13 Sacramento that the woman is a good teacher that made an honest but embarrassing mistake.

According to the station, the offending DVD starts with a menu screen that displays various school trips and functions. Click on one of them and “you see kids in a classroom sharing stories. They then start clapping and the video suddenly cuts to sex.”

The teacher, according to CBS 13, called one family’s home the day after the DVD was sent and apologized profusely, “asking the man and his wife to call every parent they knew to stop their kids from seeing the DVD too.”

"All she could say was that it was a horrible mix up," said one father.

CBS 13 reports that the local school district is investigating the case, but that it is unlikely that teacher, who is well-liked and respected, will lose her job.

But there is good news in all of this. School officials say a new, more appropriate, DVD will be sent to students in the coming days.

The most amazing thing about this story is the lack of over-reacting, hyperbolic parents.

That's pretty awesome.

My 5th grade teacher was weird. He'd tell us stories how his cat had crawled in the engine and had nearly died... then showed us pictures of the cat all jacked up.

He also explained in detail what had happened when his wife lost their baby during pregnancy.

and his breath always smelled like coffee.

I never had any teachers that awesome.

The closest I had was a psycho evangelical substitute we had a lot in high school would would abandon the lesson plan and tell us fucked up stories about the exorcisms he'd helped with and/or witnessed. Guy was nuts, and hugely inappropriate, but none of us ever fucked with him or mentioned anything that would have gotten him fired because it was so damned hilarious.

Because there is none. It's just that if it's in California then it must be bad, right?

Or that Californians are all such crazy liberals that they like letting their children watch porn. Which is not only ridiculous, but geographically inaccurate given that Sacramento is a pretty conservative city located in a largely conservative state.

The teachers in my high school were too busy banging football players to have time to make sex tapes.

With the exception of Eureka/Arcata, the Bay Area, and parts of the LA area, yes. Very conservative.

But, don't take my word for it. I've only lived here all my life.

If Cali was conservative, it wouldn't need a Prop 8 to show how conservative it is

Very conservative? I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion. Obviously the bay area is very liberal. LA County is liberal as is most of Southern California all the way down to San Diego. Those areas are home to a shit load of people which is why California always votes Democrat, has two Democrat senators and has always been considered a "blue" state. Not even a swing state and definitely not a "red" state which is what "very conservative" would be. The only very conservative part of California is the San Joaquin valley.

Most of California's biggest cities and most densely populated areas lean left enough on policy issues to ensure that California remains a blue state, I'm not disputing that fact. That is not all of California, though. Not even close. There is a hell of a lot of the state that is rural and/or agricultural, not just in the Central Valley, and those areas are indeed very conservative. Especially morally. Hell, as of the last time I checked, we're also leading the country in the number of hate groups per state, which sure as hell doesn't support the idea of a hippie liberal paradise.

It's true that we've got two Democrat senators and are "blue" on the national level, but we're also a state with a history of Ronald Regan, Pete Wilson, and recalling Gray Davis to put the Terminator in charge. If California as a state were as liberal as the reputation its big cities have created, we certainly wouldn't have had both Prop 8 AND Prop 22 shot down within the last decade.

Why do you have to turn something great like a teacher porn video into red state blue state bullshit
