View Full Version : The Suns sign Channing Frye

The Spurs traded for Richard Jefferson
The Lakeshow signs Ron Artest
The Crabaliers trade for the Big Lobster

And the Suns answered back with this marquee signing. Good to see Sarver's dedication to winning with this blockbuster of a free agent.

Kerr and Sarver, YOU SUCK!!!!

It's gonna be great to watch every big man in the NBA with any lower body strength run train on these two pussies. Rumor has it the Suns are going after Sean May :lmao

If that happens I'm becoming a Thunder fan.

I don't think it's that bad of a signing either. Maybe he can turn it around there.

I guarantee you Frye would have flourished in SA. But since every player on the Suns roster has the same lazy attitude problem on defense as he does, it's probably not a good fit for him.

They want to go back to when it felt good (SSOL). It's so immature, but, understandable. Sarver lost over a quarter billion dollars in the crash. He ain't got no money and there stands Amare wanting 6 year & $120 million. I God's! He wants to trade him, but, can't get anything for him with the eye uncertain, and how the Hell is he going to find a Doctor to sign off on that eye? So, if he keeps Amare and the eye is kosher, then he'll have to pony up the $120 million.

Culburn369
07-06-2009, 06:27 PM
To them it did. They were never happier than in '06 when Thomas put that hoop in. They'd beaten the Lakers. That was enough for them. That was their Finals.

SSOL is weak like you assert, DUNCAN. It's a crutch and permits room for loss & excuse: "But, we're exciting." "Nobody else has ever won it all, but, we will."

Cavs going to sign Frye for BAE.

http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2009/07/nba_source_cleveland_cavaliers.html

Remember how Delonte was stuck behind Earl Watson and Luke Ridnour in Seattle (of course you don't). Well this will be the same type of signing and Frye will flourish!

Basically we got "Smushed". That SOB would get close to half court bringing it up and then he'd get nervous, he'd put his down (and I'll bet the farm he closed eyes) and his head was too heavy out front like that so then he'd geta head of steam up and lose his balance. I laughed till I cried.

Frye was a beast at the U (fuck Miami, my goal is that by my senior year every one is referring to UA as the U), but he hasn't done shit in the NBA.

Congrats on signing a pussy Cleveland.

I'm pretty sure recovery from injuries should be factored in. He'll never fulfill the promise he showed as a rookie due to the injuries, but he's got a good 15-to-20-foot jumper and is still relatively quick. Alongside Shaq it makes some sense to keep the floor spread. He's never going to be a center, but as a spot-up 4 he'll be worth something.

He's soft, true, but James made Varejao look decent. Frye actually has some offensive talent. He did average 10 ppg, 6 rpg and shoot 46% from the floor in 25 minutes a night his first two years. For a jump-shooting PF that's not too shabby a percentage. Career 29% from 3-point range in 70 attempts as well.

Gino

He's too skinny.

DUNCANownsKOBE2
07-07-2009, 02:00 PM
I forgot about Frye's great rookie year......wtf happened to him? Now I remember New York was trying to get KG and they said they weren't giving Frye under any circumstances. He's fallen off a bit since then.

JMarkJohns
07-07-2009, 02:02 PM
He's 6-11 and 245 pounds? That's average build for a PF in the NBA. He may not be strong, but he's not skinny. He could definitely use added strength, depending on how they wish to use him. Not sure how quick he is now, but in college and at the draft camps, he was one of the quicker big men. If his injuries have healed, he may be quick enough to defend the perimeter forwards, which is what I think they are looking for him to do.

If he's not quick enough, then, yes, he should look to improve his strength.

JMarkJohns
07-07-2009, 02:12 PM
I forgot about Frye's great rookie year......wtf happened to him?

He got injured, pretty badly, got traded and then got stuck behind a similar-type of, but better/younger talent in Aldridge.

His numbers declined with his minutes, by and large. He never approached the efficiency and quality of his rookie year because he never got the consistant PT once injured/traded.

I don't think he can best those, but I don't think 10 points, 6 rebounds is out of the question with the minutes and touches.

At this point, if he can get 25 minutes, I think he's good for 8/12 points, 5/7 rebounds and close to a block and steal a game on 45% from the field and a chance to hit around 35% or so on threes because he'll be so wide open with James and Shaq.

You can't compare Frye to Lopez.
Frye has been insignificant for 4 years now, while Lopez has had only one season to suck.....:lol

Lopez: If the 7' Midget Clown could learn to stop crouching every time he gets into the paint making him 6' feet tall he might actually find a presence in the lane.
I'd rather have 6'8" Matt Barnes at center than Lopez or Channing tissue Frye:wow

Lopez is forced to do that because his center of gravity is so high due to a lack of lower body strength that it's the only way he can box out, and even after that he still loses position all the time cause he's a big pussy who wouldn't be in the NBA if not for his brother.
