Sprewell, yeah I never understood the manlove for Sprewell either, and I have NEVER been in favor of bringing in Spreewell.
Thats 4 guys, thats it?
Or does, 4 guys say everything.

I don't like Glenn Robinson. I've never liked him. I don't think he fits well on this team. Robinson* is a clone of Glen Rice minus a lot of the range. We saw what happened to Rice when he moved to an offense where he wasn't being continually fed screens every possesion in LA. We saw what happened to Robinson* (I just can't call this guy Robinson out of respect to 5-0) after leaving Milwaukee. This to me looks like Charlie Ward all over again.
Still, the Spurs haven't had a second SF on their roster all season. Maybe he can hit a couple of shots when he comes in and maybe he'll quit beating women. What kind of piece of shit beats his woman? The 'I'm ready to die and so are all of you' is some psycho shit. I can't say I approve of crap like that on this team.... but it's not like they signed Malone or anything.

Ill be back home wednesday afternoon though.
Hopefully in time for the Spurs VS Clippers.
My first game since January 29th.
Yuma eh? You must be hanging out with Ducks. Scary thing...Really scary. Quack...AFLAC
BTW, if a guy is bad on D, who else would make a guy not look bad, than Pop's defensive system and Tim Duncan and Rasho Nesterovic backing him up.
I remember when HITA was playing and how awful at times, when they were playing 4 on 5 from the defensive end, how hard it was for our team to hold the other team in check. A team needs BALANCE.

Since he'll be working for a contract for next year (I'm not saying a contract with the Spurs) then he'll probably have a work ethic better than we've ever seen from him.
So it's not a big deal. He'll come here, smile at the end of the bench, play spot minutes and knock down some shots. If he doesn't, he'll be cut. This was a no brainer pick up. No risk.
That being said, he was on IR with the Sixers because he was a cancer, not because he was really hurt. So it will be interesting to see how/if he adjusts to being a spot minutes bench player here in San Antonio.

I remember it the day he was traded. The trade was made because he demanded the extension, and then he demanded it from SA or he would not report. I know timvp has to remember this.
He withdrew it a couple of days later and then they had a lame press conference where he held up the jersey of another baseline favorite, Paul Pressey.

Paul Pressey.

Outside shooter, sixth man of the year candidate, can run the point.
Eery similarities.
When you put it that way Kori, your right, it is a no brainer, if he plays ball and gets along, makes shots and is a team player, then thats great.
But to be effective, I think he needs more than spot minutes.
Id slide him into Devin's minutes to take some pressure off Manu.

Yes, I remember. He was threatening not to report to training camp if the Spurs didn't give him a three-year extension, IIRC. After the Spurs talked to him for a while, Smith decided to not push further for the extension and had that press conference with his wife and kid.
It was a desperation move by Smith and the Spurs called his bluff.

NBA.com report says Robinson is in questionable shape. Whether they actually know or merely are articulating the conventional wisdom that he must be out of shape since he hasn't played is moot. He CANT be in 'game
shape' without having played.
They need to give him all the minutes he can take until his tongue is hanging out like a Big Dog that's been running raccoons all night if they hope to have anything from him for the playoffs.

Hornets Waive Davis And Robinson
New Orleans - The Hornets announced that they have waived center Dale Davis and forward Glenn Robinson.
"Dale and Glenn have been quality players in this league for many years, but we knew when we made these trades that neither of them were a part of our plans for the future," said Hornets General Manager Allan Bristow. "By waiving them now, we can allow them to pursue an opportunity with another team this season."
Davis was acquired along with guard Speedy Claxton and cash considerations from the Golden State Warriors in exchange for Baron Davis on February 24. He averaged 3.1 points and 4.3 rebounds in 36 games for the Warriors before being traded to the Hornets. The 13-year veteran owns career averages of 8.5 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 995 games and has shot .531 (3,483-6,556) from the field over his career with Indiana, Portland and Golden State.
Robinson was acquired from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Jamal Mashburn and Rodney Rogers on February 24. He had not appeared in a game for the Sixers this season after being placed on the Injured List on November 1 with left ankle tendonitis. The 10-year veteran holds career averages of 20.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 679 games with Philadelphia, Atlanta and Milwaukee.

I've been trolling around some other sites, wondering what the rest of the league thinks about this move. Frankly, I've been surprised at how many fans are looking at this as some desperation move by the Spurs; as some tacit admission that the Spurs are in bad shape, since they're turning to Big Dog for help.
I can't see that.
I see an interesting move that has tremendous upside and no real risk. If Big Dog can still score, he's Vinny Johnson-like guy to come off the bench. If Big Dog can't play, or if he's a bad guy, he'll be out of here quickly without any harm to the Spurs financial situation. It's worth a look in my book.

Indeed. If you assume that GRobinson doesn't come down with whatever hit Steve Smith at age 32 then you are looking at a guy who can be a significant part of the rotation for another 2 to 3 seasons. If not then he cost you Dion Glover.
However, I'm skeptical of GRobinson's short term efficacy.

This was a big shock to me. I am gonna miss Glover. He was a good fight, while he lasted. I hope to see him back in the summer camp or what ever.
This was a real shock to me because I was just looking at NBA.com a few days ago and noticed he was available but he doesnt play Defense. Then I thought to myself if we signed him and he played with Duncan, Bowen, Manu and Paker then four out of five playing defense isnt bad. That if he still has that mid range jumper. If not then its not a good move. The Spurs are a very smart team and you know they worked him out. I know alot of you say he was not happy playing with the Sixers and the Bucks but this is the World Champion Spurs and playing on a Champion caliber team that consistantly wins will make any player happy. So lets see what happens. PS Glover left on good terms with the team and expect him to sign with our Summer team.
