You guys already got Von Wafer.

LOL

Von is gone dude, his agent acts like he was the reason the rockets made it to the 2nd round, turned down a 3.5 mil deal. Fuck him, ariza is much better

Crutch city is a nice touch, but at least our players play with heart

Never underestimate the heart of a 1st round champion.

No question about it. It is a huge loss for the Lakers. The Rockets fans should be happy that at least they got something in return for Artest when they possibly could have gotten nothing.

I am very pleased to get Ariza. Artest makes sense for the Lakers since he can possibly fill in for both Ariza and Odom. He will give the Lakers an edge that will help them against Boston, or the Cavs.

He's not a bad passer and has really picked up his three point shooting. I found that he's really, really overrated defensively, though. He needs to drop 20 pounds. All of that stuff about him being able to guard all five positions is silly. Granville Waiters could beat him off the dribble these days.

For the Rockets, Ariza will have a chance to become a front line player and should make for a nice piece in their rebuilding effort. I am encouraged that he has worked to improve his outside shot and is such disruptive force on defense. Maybe he turns out to be another Shandon Anderson, but he's worth his contract.

Fuck UCLA

You realize that phrase will get you permanently banned here, right?

haha UCLA? ROFL

Oh and by the way. Von Wafer sucks. He's a blackhole worse than Artest ever was. At least Artest could play defense. James White will be better than Von Wafer ever was in Adleman's gimmick offense. You'll see. Von Wafer on another team will be a perpetual benchwarmer.

I have a friend who is a big Rockets fan and he is upset that Artest will be gone for Ariza. I like the Rockets, the team and their fans seem to be pretty cool (unlike the Mavs fans and team).

When he heard about Yao he asked me a few questions and I told him that Houston is unlikely to compete for a championship this year, but if they are building for the future Aaron Brooks and Trevor Ariza are great strating blocks to build on. And if the Rockets could some how move Yao's contract and land some 2010 FAs then they could be back in the mix in no time.

Agreed, but I don't think we have to move Yao's contract to land a free agent when T-Mac's 23.5 million dollar contract comes off the books next year.
