We don't have a shot at a ring right now..

If the FO fills out the roster properly by the end of the off-season, and it looks like we can legitimately contend for a ring, then we'll have 2-3 more years of competing for one, instead of just 1..

No

Jordan got his 6th when he was 35

mailman and stockton retired in their 40s. hell, malone almost got a ring before he did

these days were too quick to label players as old

maybe they dont build them like they use to. but duncan is old school

We can't even predict what will happen in the next two days, so we definitely can't predict what will happen in the next two years. If Blair, Mahinmi, and Haislip all fulfill their highest potential, they'd be a great young collection of bigs.

By the way, Rasheed canceled his visit, which was all but guaranteed eight hours ago.

Tim Duncan will have a shot at another ring until he retires. If he retired when he was 40. He would have 7 more shots. The spurs will be contenders until he is gone. When he retires......What a sad day it will be.

I can't even imagine what Duncan's last game will be like. I hope he goes out like David and wins a title on San Antonios court. How awesome would that be? He still has several years left so I'll try not to think about it.

We started losing our chance when Pop sold out to offense over defense and got rid of Bruce. Period!

Seriously. Everyone in here thinks too much. No one takes into consideration what could happen to every other team. Even if we all knew that there was gonna be no chance for a title after said year, why the fuck would we stress over it?

sad but true...I think, there is only a slight chance of us contending beyond 09/10...Manu isn't getting better and Tony should have reached his peak too...furthermore other teams are emerging

but you never know...maybe a big vet name comes to get a title...maybe LeBron goes to NY and the team just doesn't fit him...maybe Artest punches Gasols soft face, making him become a Clipper and hate on the Lakers for the rest of his life...we should never say never and I like us beeing a good team, even while beeing build around Parker instead of Timmy...right now the odds just dont look that good beyond '10, but we should trust our team/FO to do the best they can in that situation
