You've never played football have you?

You've never played football have you?

yes I did, for 9 years. Dad played in the NFL for 13, and have met Rudy on 2 separate occasions...doesn't change the fact that it's a shitty movie made for people who don't care about football. Too Disney

Your dad played in the NFL? Who was he? You're a richer.

My step dad did, he played for the Browns. I'd rather not give his name on here since if you google him pictures of my mom come up and I don't want people who don't like me on here photoshopping my mom

Rudy's better than any other college football movie. It's been Disneyized far less than most sporting event movies.

TD, was your step dad a starter or just a guy who was on the team? I've been a Browns fan most of my life.

Rudy. Not even close.

Junction Boys is the self proclaimed best sports story ever told, so I think that qualifies it as the winner.

I vote for The Program. "Kane is Able."

these are the options? rudy is, without a doubt, an inspirational movie...but not the best college football flick.

Oh yeah. Completely forgot about that movie. That was better than any of the ones in the poll.

So if you have one not on the poll...post it. No biggie.

i might have to go with the Program...and even though its not college, i liked varsity blues.

football is more than a game, so i have no problem with movies like Rudy...its just hard to put it tops.

Varsity Blues was good, as was Friday Night Lights.

Varsity Blues is fucking retarded. There is so many problems with that movie I don't even know where to begin. Just so unrealistic. Now Friday Night Lights on the other hand is amazing.

Too bad they're both high school football movies though

Necessary Roughness. Only voted for it in lieu of having The Greatest Game Ever Played (2006 Rose Bowl) as an option.

I got to be an extra in Necessary Roughness. We sat in the stands around 2 am for a couple of hours while they shot the rain scenes. We sat among other people plus quite a few cardboard cutouts to look like people in the stands while huge hoses shot piles of water onto Fouts Field to simulate a rain storm! It was fun! I also got to stand around the practice field while they shot some practice scenes in the movie. I think I still have a Texas State Armadillos T-shirt somewhere.

necessary roughness had it all:

Oversized Simoan linemen
washed up comeback quarterback story
student-teacher fucking
Kathy Ireland still hot
barfight
Jason Bateman in his wisecracking pre-AD days
an antagonist dean

but

it did not have a train station.

God was she ever. I still love her to this day.
That movie is a classic too. Definitely one of those ones where if you see it on you stop and watch it. Kinda like Die Hard

I really enjoyed The Express. I'd put that above any others that have been mentioned.
