"Many tennis fans will remember the 2009 4th of July weekend as the time Roger Federer supplanted Pete Sampras' all-time majors record. But I'll remember it as the weekend Andy Roddick took on the world."

Pleeease! the moral victory bullshit doesn't fly anymore. Roddick had a chance but chocked, just like every other time he's played Federer. Took on the world? pfff... chocked on it is more like it.

I dunno about that article cuz the premise sounds lame, but I think its kinda cool how Roddick bloaded the UK outta having their native in the finals against Federer. That other Andy supposedly has a winning record against Federer.

It must suck to play the best match of your life and still lose.

P/S: What's that "Andy Roddick vs the world" crap? for a moment, after the match was over, you kinda feel bad for the guy because he always loses and he was pretty close this time. But now nobody gives a shit about him, Federer's record is all people talk about.

You clearly didn't watch the match. This wasn't your normal "Federer destroys Roddick" event. True, he gave away the second set, but Roddick stuck with it mentally after that. Roddick's effort was very impressive against a player he's struggled with in the past, and I think he's got a shot to win another slam soon if he continues to play at this level.

You'd get "Andy Roddick vs The World" if you read the article because Federer wasn't the only guy he had to play in the final weekend of Wimbledon.
