For what? To sit around at practices again and do nothing?

PJ would be a great addition. He really knows his defense, but I don't think he will come back. He would no longer be the head assistent. I think he is going to stay away from coaching for awhile and give commentating a try.
I thought you were referring to Eddie Murphy's animated show on fox.

He sounds too weird and opens his mouth too wide when he talks to be a commentator, he'd probably wear himself out, or he might have to re-structure his speaking stroke. LOL

P.J. can dunk from the three point line.

p.j. was the brains of the spurs offense
i could see him coming back but he looks like he likes being a analyist
i dont know if he wants too, he's won 3 championships, and the reason why he was being a assistant coach was probably more to get hired as a head coach

The offense definitely seems to bog down quite a bit more since hes moved on. Maybe I am imagining things but it seems the 3+ minute offensive droughts didn't occur when PJ was on the bench.

When did you start watching the Spurs, last season?

:lmao
The Spurs have gone through offensive droughts as long as I've watched them. I remember guys like Antoine Carr and Doc Rivers and Glenn Robinson being really good for ending a cold offensive streak, and there are certainly guys that go back way further than I do.
Our D did take a nose dive once PJ left

Probably back in 1989. I realize that all teams go through offensive droughts. Maybe its had to do with Manu's injuries/loss of Brent but we didn't have game after game of periods of 5 minutes of not scoring a bucket that I remember until last season.

We had game after game of offensive droughts in our championship 1999 season, surely you remember that. We've had it all through the Tim Duncan era.

Not really for the Tony/Manu era. 1999 was a different era when perimeter defense allowed you to maul people on the perimeter. Jackson and Elie were champs at that.

lol well that puts things a bit in perspective. i was looking at the stats and the teams fg% went up from 14th to 7th last season anyway.

PJ coached the defense.
It does seem that the team has completely stopped getting steals, and has consequently almost completely stopped generating any fast-break opportunities. I think Parker's ability to penetrate from a half-court set has kind of disguised the real impact it's had on the team.

Well, now we're narrowing it down to the tony/manu era, seems to me you were saying since 1989 since you started watching there were no droughts like last year but I guess you've conceded that. I still remember droughts every year even during the tony/manu era, but it wasn't as defined as since 1999.

What ever PJ did he seemed to make Pop a better coach.
