Did we ever really ditch that garbage philosophy?
I suppose we did with The Porter coaching D'Umbtoni's players fiasco...........even though we still sucked it was nice while it lasted.
Porter never had a chance to succeed here with Nashy silently controlling the owner,GM,lockerroom....
What a shitty franchise we've become. Directionless and tired.
Even the likes of Channing Frye,Tyronne Lue have said "uhmmm no thx."

Not every team can trade bullshit to Memphis for Pau Gasol. I'm sure the Mavs will win a title just as soon as we swap out JJ Barea for Derrick Rose. Besides, why would anybody want to be a Lakers fan? It's like rooting for WalMart or Microsoft.

Yeah... my bad... how silly to think that rooting for a team that actually wins is desirable. Trust me... I've been a lifelong fan of the Lakers...and Kings since they got here... and it's a lot more enjoyable rooting for winners.
Are you a cubs fan too?:bang

How silly to think that ring smack means anything. I'd love to see my team one day when a title, but I'll live my life happily if they don't. I guess I should completely stop following basketball since Dallas has never crossed that finish line. Why even bring up that angle?

It's easy for Dallas and their fandom. You have no pressure, no expectation. Media isn't eatin' on yer ass all the time. Let us blow nearly 3-0 and see what happens. We'd never live it down. Let us walk away from Horry and see what happens. We'd never live it down. You have no Boston haunting you thru the decades. You don't have to entertain every f'in night. Christ, whenever we show up it's like its the gd Finals. Then we move on and the team we left returns to their previous catatonic state.
It ain't all peaches & cream being the Lakers, kids.

Cassell actually won 3 rings--2 with Houston (starting with his rookie year) and 1 with Boston.
