Grant Hill's wish finally came true (see story link here). He wanted to remain with Phoenix all along. After delivering two years as a quality starter at $1.83 million and $1.97 million salaries, a raise was in order now that he proved he has better health at 36 than he did at 27, 30 or 34.
So why did the Suns triumvirate of Robert Sarver, Steve Kerr and Alvin Gentry have to make a red-eye private flight to save a Hill deal? Because one source said the Suns' initial offer to Hill was for a veteran's minimum contract of $1.3 million, a hefty pay cut after a season in which he was at his healthiest, was easily the Suns' best defender and shot a career-best 52.3 percent from the field. Sarver is sick. No wonder Hill was about to leave, when he really wanted to stay--what an insulting offer!

More than any move that they did or did not make, the way Sarver runs that franchise is why they are in the shape that they are now.
Anybody think Cuban is an assclown? Who would want Sarver as an owner?

Yeah, but, Hill is just as sick as Sarver. DUNCAN claims Mrs. Hill has MLS and needs to live in the warmer climates. What in the world is Hill doing negotiating in New York & Boston?

I heard that Hill's wife Tamia wanted to move to NY due to her music career.

Her music career consisted of getting half-naked in a bathtub. Then she met Grant.

Hill raped Orlando's pocket so I have no pity.

I think you're confusing him with Q-Rich.

Why do they want him back? They're going nowhere, so start developing Earl Clark!

+1
He missed something like 300 games over a 6 year period. So what if he played a few healthy seasons? He's 36 years old. And, he's banked despite being injured. He should gladly take the vet's min at this point in his career.

Cuban is an ass but he's a great owner to have, not scared of spending money.

I saw one article where Grant called the Suns a "potentially decent team."

And I do wonder why he didn't, Jam. Why he crossed the country to dally with Boston & NY. Why he made them charter over there to court him. Why he indeed just didn't take the minimum instead of this point of prying a few million loose like that.
It's weird.

Thinking long term has never been something the Suns like to do.

Sounds like the economy is taking toll on the Suns. Man, I miss the Colangelo days.
Hill raped Orlando's pocket so I have no pity.
He sure did and then he quickly left after taking all his money.

True. But uhh, Cuban still is an "assclown" and i wouldn't want that dumb mafucka anywhere near my team!

Hill said reports about his wife, Tamia, being interested in New York for her singing career were false and that she emphasized how their home is a happier place when his team is winning.

Musta been really miserable after they beat the Lakers a few months ago. They proceeded to lose like 9 in-a-row. Oh, yeah, blew their whole wad. Weren't worth a tinker's dam after that. Like just about every team that beat us last season. Rolled right on over for the next week.
