I would say a great adventure movie probably is close to the top of my list, the sad thing is hollywood can't produce a good adventure film anymore. So I guess just throw a few movies you've seen out where exploration and crazy stuff goes on

K, into the wild was good but that's a doc.

id say

The beach
swiss family robinsons

and i guess movies like

blood diamond could be considered but, well that actually is a cool adventure movie the last half

hmmm, really the list is so lacking, and Lord of the rings u could say but no, not an adventure movie. So help me find some more awesome adventure movies please. if they're out there

I agree. Not many good adventures any more. As for a TV series, how can you top Battlestar Galactica?

The series is over. maybe catch re-runs.

I suggest not watching it unless you start with the mini-series. It's part of the first series DVD set. It's one large arc, and single episodes will lose the magic. Sets available:

Season 1
Season 2.0
Season 2.5
Season 3
Season 4.0

Season 4.5, the last part, should be out soon.

There is also a stand alone movie "Razor" that explains the back story of Admiral Cane and the Pegasus. There is also a new movie "Caprica" which is the backstory to the series. I suggest not watching either until after watching the third season.

Pilot/miniseries (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0314979/)

Battlestar Galactica (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0407362/)

Razor (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0991178/)

Caprica (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0799862/)

Here's the trailer before the miniseries started:

Here's a link to the miniseries you can watch:

Battlestar Galactica Mini Series (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VFUJN2/imdb-avod/)

They only let you watch the first couple minutes without paying.

I agree. BSG is a very good series, but won't make any sense unless you watch the miniseries first. It's very well-written and acted, nicely shot, and has cool looking sets.

The Goonies :tu

OMG i can't believe I forgot that.
And double forgot about the first 3 indy's-all of them are great....period

so does no one think the beach (same director as slumdog) should be up there.
I think it should be way up there, after u guys revised me id say

Goonies
The beach
raiders
last crusade
temple

I guess Im just dissapointed no one can put out a really good adventure movie anymore. Like sweep your feet off the ground and be like, hey we got these group of people who are going to just explore, and then have a good plot with it....too hard i guess

there has been talks of a Goonies 2 for a while now but it keeps getting shot down. Personally I hope it doesnt get made, I just know they would fuck it up somehow.

I watched the last Indiana Jones movie yesterday, and it is one of the worst movies i have ever seen. It wasnt the acting that made it horrible, although it wasnt that good. The visual effects, and attempt at comedy was pathetic.
