The Mavs need a big man. Apparently, Magic may match the Mavs offer to Gortat. It's a huge contract for someone with his stats but we all know Cuban pays up the wazoo.
I don't think Magic is going to match, but certainly the Mavs will be pissed at Magic if they match. Especially since Magic just signed Bass. There have been rumors, but I don't think anything substantial, indicating Magic may match Dallas' offer to Gortat.:toast

...Lee is right. And in this NBA there is an alarming oversupply of Dampier 2.0.

Have you ever watched Gortat play? Even if that were true, the price is right this time.

Who is also more aggressive, has fundamentals, has a decent post scoring offensive game, catches the ball well, finishes well, runs the floor well, and defends better...
not like Dampier at all, you dumbass. if you watched him play you would have seen that already.

Gortat= -3.1 when on court +9.1 when off the court. Not a good sign.
Dampier= 1.6 when on the court and 2.2 when off the court. Average.

in 12 mpg. He averages a double-double per 36 minutes, and he's put up a double-double in every career start.

If Gortat is actually worth a MLE, then Damp would be a big bargain for the salary he earns. Damp plays passively if we consider him a player of average level rather than star level, he is just a little bit overpaid. In fact, all the centers around the league are generally overpaid as they are very few, so even a 7'6 piece of **** is going to get 15m from his team next season without playing one game. Damp has never been prone to injury and produces big numbers of rebounds night in and night out, his flaw is just the incompetence at the offensive end.
