Ok so who do you think would win if this happens?

I think the kicks/knees would do St. Pierre in.

Depends on how much quality weight GSP can put on to get to 185. His speed and explosion at 170 is unmatched.. As much as i love GSP, i lean towards Anderson..

Yeah same here I give Silva the advantage. It would be a hell of a fight. I wonder if they would make it a title fight. Would be a shame to not have 5 rounds.

I think St. Pierre would not have a problem taking Silva down and avoiding submissions before strikes would put him in danger. As we have seen, he has smart game plans when fighting dangerous strikers. He could control the fight on the ground and inflict damage with GnP.

It would be interesting how bold and comfortable he would get as the fight would progress to mix it up on his feet like he did with Alves.

However, with Silva, I don't think that would be wise.

I'd say GSP by majority decision.

GSP is obsessed with being a legend in the sport and it's a fight he wants. It's likely gonna happen unless Silva goes downhill. GSP has no challenges left at 170..

I truly believe that GSP would put him on the ground and just control him the whole fight.

GSP would ride out a decision.

I don't think GSP can handle the power behind Silva's strikes...depends which Silva shows up too though...

Wanna see it...

Silva's ninja shit would get the best of GSP.

If Silva is motivated, he pounds GSP, who is kinda small even at 170. Silva is big for 185 since he can also fight at 205. I like GSP, but when Silva is motivated, he is unstoppable.

I think Silva would be to much for GSP, and I would love to see the match happen

Silva has great BJJ, so unlike Thiago he is a threat even when on his back. No, he wouldnt be able to get back up like Thiago (which I found very impressive) but he is still dangerous when on his back. If it went to a decision Id have GSP taking it. However if someone ends it, I think that someone would be Anderson.

I'm 100% confident that GSP can take him down consistantly. The striking is the big concern as is the height and reach. It's probably gonna happen at some point unless Silva loses in his next 2 or 3 fights..

Silva is on a completely different level than Alves and Penn. You cant compare them. Silva by knockout unless gsp can take him down at will and avoid a sub.

My money is on GSP -- then again, I'm a terrible better/loser.

This would be such a great fight.

Silva is indeed on an entirely different level than Alves. Not taking anything away from the french bitch he has mad quicks, athleticism and of course dbrieden hanging from his nuts. I just don't see GSP having the strength to escape Silva's plum clinch and JJ.

That will really tell us all just where Silva is mentally.

I think that GSP have a big chance to win the decision aginst silva. he is the best striker at WW and he is the top wrestler in mma, and his control of other guys is just awesome.

I don't care that much about weight diference, the problem could be the lenght though. But gsp is a dynamite when it come to take people down.

Silva vs Forrest is going to be a great fight and I see Silva winning by TKO. I just hope Silva gives us a better show then his last fight with Thales Leites.

I liked Royce's take on the Silva vs. Leites fight:

I don’t understand why people criticized (Silva) so much (against Thales Leites). He used a perfect strategy and wasn’t hit in the whole fight, had a clean fight and won. Do we have rules? So let’s fight under the rules. Why would he go there and fight until he rips his opponent’s head off? … Why would he expose himself? You have to use your mind. I like the guys who use strategy — these are the guys who are on the top: Lyoto, Anderson, GSP. They fight clean and take their opponents out of their own games … Lyoto is one of the few guys that knows how to use strategy. Besides his karate and his ground game, he knows how to use strategy and that’s what puts him on the top. I saw his victory over Rashad. He wasn’t punched one single time in the whole fight and that’s (the strategy).

GSP wrestling and JJ is amazing, sub is not happening because he won't be on his back. Silva won't sub him from the bottom. He could outwrestle him and obviously needs to avoid the strikes. Not sure if this is even gonna happen because GSP says he wants time to move up properly and he is still set to defend at 170 at least once more..

Won't he be fighting the winner of the Swick v Kampmann fight? I'm a big fan of Swick but I don't think either one of them have a chance against GSP.

He might not have a choice, Forrest will push the pace for sure.
