Remember when LakerFans were saying it was a disgrace that the Spurs tanked that season (was it the 96/97 season?)?

Fvcking hypocrites. Now when its their turn to tank, they come up with a million excuses on why this time is diffirent, why this time tanking is OK.

Fvckers!

It is the year 2012 and the NBA community is shaking it head. Despite the retirement of Duncan the indomitable Tony Parker and the elder statesman Ginobli plus 6 guys with names with 20 characters are on their way to another championship under PJ Carlisimo, who took over for Pop last year, after Pop won his last championship sans Duncans.

They are facing this year the NY Knicks with James, an aging Kobe, an aging KG and bits and pieces that Isiah has gathered around them. These 3 stars despite their great past are not favored over the deeper, team oriented and defense minded Spurs who won 65 games this year steamrolling through the playoffs.

Since moving Kobe, LA remains a lottery bound team, but even that has not stopped the losing. Meanwhile their cross town rivals the Clippers are celebrating their first division championship and appear ready to test the Spurs in the coming years. What hurts the most is to see Penny and Jack N. at the Lakers games along with a cluster of aging LA wannabees. The Lakers have lost their luster, and tickets go at face value and many seats are empty again and again.

Yes Lakers fans that is your future.

The Lakers have had too much success for the fortunes not to go bad. I am thinking a downward spiral, similar to the San Francisco 49ers.

As someone who used to believe they would bounce back, I have seen in the last two weeks the real future of the Lakers and it is not pretty, they are like the Celtics falling apart s/p Bird etc.

Kobe = McGrady without support and may even be worse. I used to think Kobe was going to be a difference maker even without Shaq to a point but I was dead wrong. Kobe without Shaq is a cancer period. They are now looking for Kidd to come in to save them, hope they get rid of Odom. Parker owns Kidd these days when on his game.

The Lakers finished at right about where their talent level dictates.

Can anyone honestly say that the Lakers are "better" than any of the teams that are ahead of them in the standings?

It hurts, without a doubt. I really wanted the Lakers to make the playoffs. But seeing where they were standing back in January, and knowing that they had a tough schedule in March and April, I could see this coming.

Hopefully they can continue to rebuild, land some solid players in the draft, and come back strong next year.

Hey man, we have all been there. The 85-89 era was horrible for me, as I was used to having my team win every year in the Ice Age.

Then we got lucky in the draft and it has been smooth sailing every year but the injury yrs.

Good luck to your team in the yrs to come.

They will be back, I just hope you dump Kobe.

Oh yes, we only had David for less than 20 games that season and Sean was out for a lot of the season too. Get over it, your team sucks because your so-called savior refuses to be a team player. The Laker's playoff hopes ended the second they traded Shaq to the Heat.

I was trying to be diplomatic with my responses...but the majority of the posts from you "fans" are pretty childish and pedestrian...sad really...your hate and despise for the Lakers and Kobe seem to be a result of your own team's insecurities, or maybe your own lack of confidence. I guess I'm too busy being "owned" or "worked" that I fail to recognize the brilliance that I read here on a daily basis. This will probably be my last post.....it's that grim...
