The rumor was that he was a prominent member of the team (so it seems safe to say Vince Carter, Richard Jefferson, or Jason Kidd). Also, "The NBA player, who is African American, has been linked to a number of women in the past - all of whom are Caucasian. He is also known for enjoying the night life with his teammates and good friend Tyson Beckford. For legal reasons, MediaTakeOut.com has decided not to print the name of the player."

Suspicion immediately centered on Richard Jefferson

I know that nothing will stop people from saying this kind of thing, but for those of you who ARE actually Spurs fans you should know that when the gay rumor got out of control in New Jersey RJ did not play well. Whether it was true or not he was obviously hurt and his focus was not the same.

What I'm saying is that if you are a Spurs fan you want RJ to play his best and dragging on a topic that clearly affected him is not to your advantage or his. This isn't as amusing or light as a joke about how big his forehead is. It is hard to give the game your all when you know that people are mocking you about a matter this serious.

I don't know how or where these rumors started but the bottom line is that if he performs above and beyond expectations for the Spurs you will hear less of this "chatter"....except for the haters and those who have an inferiority complex.

Still, it seems like a crappy thing to do but we don't know the whole story.
