He's easily had the worst SL so far out of the 6 main guys that are under the microscope. Looks like he's kept his head up though. :tu

it's funny how his summer is compared to George Hill's 2008 summer. didn't George Hill score 16 in his first summer league game in 2008? McClinton's summer is worse than Hill's.

I feel for him. But a year in Europe would be good for him. We really don't have room on the roster for him anyways and hes nowhere near rotational level. It just makes sense.

Agreed. Hopefully he can be the anti-Gist...suck in SL, then come back after a year and play well.

He should have extreme confidence, Pop called him the best "defender" that they worked out. Hes 24 years old. Even though he was drafted 51st the Spurs are still extremely happy they got him. I don't understand what is bothering him.

It's like like Pop and RC said if you suck you're cut. They were basically talking like he was already on the team. So I would assume confidence isn't a problem. Who knows..

Now is the time for him to work even harder.. the coaches are watching and adversity can be very revealing. Hopefully he starts making a few shots. Didn't realize he was 24.

So he's had a terrible summer league. Sucks for him and for the Spurs, but he'll be fine. He can play in Europe, make a pile of money, date European hotties, dance in European clubs, etc etc etc....Then, if he sharpens his game, he can always come back to the States. So, in reality, I still envy him.

A few games doesn't really mean anything. Players hit rough spots. I have faith that he can come back.

Granted I don't expect HUGE things from him, but even so, he's potentially got a future in the NBA.

Not sure if you can really write off a shooter for poor performance with 8 shots in 3 games. His defense, and play during practice would probably have more of a factor in how well he's fitting in or not. From what we've seem I'd say his performance defending is probably the biggest thing working against him coming from the SL, and thats not even the full Spurs system so he might still work well on the team.

I just watched the summer game and I have to say we can't write him off yet

The short span that we did play him, he got stuff initiated
We didn't play him long enough or even run anything for him to get a look at the basket...he forced the issue a couple times.

This guy needs a play ran for him to sink a three, then just play him alot of minutes (more than 10...) at point guard.
If he sinks in that situation, then okay, he sucks. But we don't know that yet.
