For me this is the biggest sports story that I can ever remember. Tom Watson is leading after the 3rd round at Turnberry. The venue that he won the the Duel in the Sun 32 years earlier. I don't expect you youngun's to understand, but this is special.

Watson has the lead at -3 through 17 holes. I hope he wins , that would be awesome at his age to play this consistently for 72 holes

Watson has an easy chip and putt to win it, he is up 1, all he needs to do is par

he decided to putt out of the rough and left him with a longer putt then he probably should have, but it is probably 6 to 8 ft to win

you can tell that missed putt and this extended play in the playoff was the killer for Watson

Great jinx thread Tlong :tu , you're slowly but surely turning into a 1st tier jinx men: the Oden thread, all the Blazers ones and now this, keep up the good work.

I never cared for Watson b/c the only time he ever seemed to win the big ones was when he beat Jack Nicklaus. I was pulling him for him this time, tho.

So am I happy or sad??

Lee Trevino was also the Nicklaus killer. Of Trevino's 6 Majors, Nicklaus placed 2nd to Trevino 4 times!
