A post from a Pistons fan saying that he sees the Spurs as the Pistons of the West got me thinking. Lets make a list that we all agree on matching East and West teams... kind of like sister teams.

15 teams in the West
15 teams in the East

Go crazy!

Lakers to Cavs, both are over hyped
Spurs to Boston, veteran teams
Denver to Orlando, on the cusp

Those are the easy ones

Warriors/Knicks - What is this "defense" you speak of?

First things first
Lakers/Celtics: Tradition, titles, media hype
Warriors/Knicks: _on Nelson and Mike _'Antoni
Blazers/Hawks: Nice young talent, starting to put it together
Rockets/Wizards: Devastated by injuries
Grizzlies/Raptors: WTF are those front offices doing?!
Hornets/Heat: One superstar with not enough support
Clippers/Bucks: The Bucks' cost-cutting has even Sterling impressed
Kings/Nets: They're both going to be very bad, only one semi-star each (Martin/Harris)
Thunder/Bobcats: Expansion teams that just aren't there yet

More difficult
Spurs/Magic: Just made trade splashes, dominant big men
Wolves/Pacers: Rebuilding teams with a nice piece to build around (Jefferson/Granger)
Nuggets/Bulls: On the cusp, both had better-than-expected playoff runs

I had to really reach for these
Jazz/Pistons: Past and present homes of Mehmet Okur?
Suns/Sixers: ...past and further past homes of Charles Barkley?
Mavs/Cavs: Uhh, they rhyme?

Really like these... and the Mavs/Cavs isn't such a reach, both are contenders, both have a nice group of players, and both are not necessarily loved around the league.

I was thinking
Lakers/Celtics hype titles
Spurs/Pistons work ethic classy organization Defense oriented
Blazers/Bulls both labeled the future dominant franchise
Hornets/Heat one super star

Mavs = Spanish Soccer Team (chokers)

That hurts, I'm a Real Madrid fan born and bred in Madrid... we might buy the best players, but we have the most class, and the Spanish Soccer team finally got rid of the chockers line when we won the European Cup... but most of all it hurts because you compared the Fakers to my beloved Real Madrid!!! :)

+10000 Real Madrid = Lakers

for the Spanish NT well they won a Euro so I guess the comparaison is dead.

Spurs = Liverpool
Celtics = Milan AC
Chicago = Barcelona
