:rolleyes I think this is such a load of crap. Some of the people who get this award where I work at don't deserve it. :pctoss

Sometimes rewards like this are given to people who under perform to their believed potential as a hope that it will perk them up enough to increase production.

I always thought they were "who's more popular" contests. :wakeup

I think it's a little of both. I agree with you PS on the people that get it here.

Ultimately it doesn't matter. The people you work with are worthless pieces of shit.

I'd rather win employee of the quarter.

Unfortunately awards like this are too often used in an attempt to motivate mediocre employees...The employees that have the hook deeply buried in the corner of their mouth and give it 110% because they are self motivated are frequently overlooked in these kinds of awards because they "don't want to keep giving it to the same one/s every month" and the "good employees don't need the motivation"...

At West the only motivation behind Employee of the month/quarter/whatever was the parking spot in front of the building you worked in. Otherwise it was pointless.

:lmao I wouldn't do that. I guess that saying is true though, "It's not who you know, but who you blow".

employee of the month is like getting an 8th place trophy in your 3rd grade spelling bee.

We got an all-expense paid trip for two to DisneyWorld at the Yacht & Beach Club. And I didn't deserve it, either. :toast

When I used to work for Albertsons, that's EXACTLY what it was. I busted my ass as much as anyone in my department, if not more. And my shift supervisors knew it. But my department manager didn't like me much because she said I had a "bad attitude". I never got employee of the month because I didn't kiss ass.

Of course I had a bad attitude. I'd come to work to close my department and the jackoffs in the morning always left me half their shit to do. Fuckin' bullshit, no? So, I'd finish their work, then finish my own work with time to spare almost every damn day. I never left shit to do for the next day's morning shift. But, my bitch dept. manager always favored "her morning crew" so I always got the short end of the stick.

Yup. Full of douchebags like Dax and Dane Cook. Some of the chicks are stupid like Jessica Simpson but nowhere near that good looking.
