View Full Version : Lebron Dunk on Duncan

RGMCSE

So ESPN has the top ten dunks on their home page and # 1 is Lebron dunking on Duncan. It was a filthy dunk and Duncan's reaction to it didn't help but are you freaking kidding me? ESPN is a joke. That dunk should not have been #1.

Beat you to it! :wgaf:

I would have to agree. After that and the top 10 plays of 08-09, it seems Lebron actually is working for ESPN (http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=2462874).

Hard to see how Lebron tops that KJ dunk on the Dream. I mean, the guy is like 5'11? And hard to see how Lebron tops either Vince Carter dunk (the guy I believe to be the best dunker in NBA history). I would even put him below all those classic dunks from the NY/Chicago playoffs.

Maybe its because its Lebron and Tim Duncan.

why are some people so idiotic...

That was one of the worst lists I've ever seen..

#1 and #2 don't belong anywhere near there..

Jordan's fake-out and then dunk over Ewing was clearly better..Carter over Mourning was clearly better..KJ over Hakeem was clearly better..

Lebron's dunk over KG doesn't even belong on the list at all..KG didn't even go to contest it..

Vince Carter's top 10 dunks of his career probably beat out most of the dunks on this list..

That whole Bulls-Knicks rivalry produced some great moments. 3 of the dunks in the top 10 are from that rivalry.

Having said that, when you jump over a 7 footer, literally OVER the guy to dunk it, it has to be the greatest dunk ever. Remember, Vince Carter accomplished, IN A GAME, what most guys try to do in a slam dunk contest.

BTW, I love the call on the McGrady over Bradley dunk. It's got to be one of the best calls. That was Kevin Harlan, right? For some reason I get him and Marv Albert mixed up.

I thought it was a good dunk... I don't really mind if it's #1 because awesome dunks don't equate to championships unless your name is Michael Jordan.

Dunks are subjective. My personal favourite was KJ over Hakeem and a Ricky Davis (when he was with the Charlotte Hornets) reverse alleyoop of a 3 quarter court David Wesley pass...

every message board cries that their team is hated by ESPN, even the lakers board at times.

so really I don't think so, they do love lebron and it's very annoying to hear about how he might sign with the knicks blahblahblah before his contract is nowhere near over, and how this one quote was shoved under the rug:

LeBron James on whether he has ever thought about playing for the New York Knicks: ''No, that might be worse than that fan running out on the court.''

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/post/James-quot-No-reason-quot-to-think-about-leav?urn=nba,70377

the only reason why lebron continues with this crap is because he loves the attention and the drama, when he'll just end up resigning with the cavs.

ferry has been a great GM actually, he turned larry hughes damon jones donyell marshall etc, into mo williams, delonte west, ben wallace, and ben wallace was turned into Shaq. now that they signed parker and moon to fill the swingmen voids they are a much stronger team that last year.

Although, out of all those dunks I saw, the Jordan one was the best. The drive, the cutback, spin move, dunk. I remember watching it live.

Getting dunked on (http://www.cbssports.com/spin/story/11988285)
Gregory Urbano

Fans rarely visit TMZ.com for the latest in sports news. For those of us other than Joe Buck, the site is one we've heard about when it comes to delivering the latest celebrity "news." In order for TMZ to cover a sports story, it has to be something as stupid and meaningless as the usual "content" the site provides. That's why it shouldn't have surprised anyone that the geniuses at work at TMZ paid thousands of dollars to secure a video any intelligent sports fan couldn't care less about.

Nearly any real fan of LeBron James or fan of the NBA in general can tell you how often people get dunked on. For every finger-wag Dikembe Mutombo delivered, there's video of another player throwing one down on him minutes later. Alonzo Mourning, one of the game's best shot blockers over the last decade, appears in several dunk reels as you search through YouTube. Tim Duncan, Shaquille O'Neal, and Dwight Howard -- they've all been dunked on.

Fact is, getting dunked on is the man's way of taking on the play. More often than not, you'll see defenders simply back away and leave the dunk uncontested. This saves the defender from being posterized or clowned on that night's SportsCenter, but it also makes that player a b----. Funny thing is, chances are that word was censored out, unlike when TMZ called LeBron the exact same word prior to "releasing" the video to the world -- even though that had been done hours ago by another website. Seems to me like LeBron did what an aggressive defender would do, and the writers at TMZ are the ones acting like female dogs.
