Rangers right-hander Vicente Padilla has tested positive for swine flu. Padilla traveled with the team for the series against Kansas City and was at Kauffman Stadium when the lab results came back. He was sent to the team hotel. The Rangers have been ravaged by a flu bug in the clubhouse, which has forced them to juggle their lineup and pitching staff. The team traveled to Kansas City on Friday instead of Thursday in an attempt to keep players from spreading the virus. Padilla, who spent the recent All-Star break in his home country of Nicaragua, is thought to be the first athlete in U.S. major pro sports to be diagnosed with swine flu.

I was listening to Dallas sports talk radio when Padilla missed his start last week and heard him just get ravaged by the host and several callers for his unwillingness to pitch with the flu.

Probably should have waited on those criticisms.
