Parker is said to be a Pass First point guard according to nbahoopsonline.com and is on pace to be the spurs alltime assist leader. He is also ranked as the 6th most important player in Spurs history behind ( Duncan/Robinson/Gervin/Elliott/Kenon ). I ask, How is it that a player who is in the top ten for spurs all-time scoring leader and in his 8 year career has never made the top 15 for league assist leader ( 6.9 avg his highest ) is a pass first point guard?

I think Tony Parker is a great player but I have always wondered with his speed and way of getting into the lane why he hasn't gotten as many assists as other top tier point guards.

He Is A good Passer, I think what is overlooked is He makes the Correct Pass but the Spurs are So team oriented, that when parker makes that pass instead of jacking up a contested shot.... They Make the extra pass to get a open Shot...... which takes away from his assist total..... But he is definately A team player, But I wouldnt call him a Pass first guard
