Tony and Mason vs Manu and Hill?

Essentially, who's better, our starting back-court or bench back-court?

Fascinating comparison. On the one hand, Hill is likely the best defender, that is, Hill on Parker compared to Mason on Manu might give the edge to the bench guys. On the other hand, Hill's the least reliable offensively, you can dare him to score, but you better not give Parker or Mason an inch.

Maybe the answer's different for 2-on-2 in the gym and real NBA play (remember to adjust comparison on a per minute basis here).

Thoughts?

Manu and Hill without a doubt.

Manu is 6'6. Mason is 6'4 at best.
Hill can guard Tony, Mason can not guard Manu

And, our starting 5 is:
Tony/Hill
ManyMason
Jefferson/Hairston
Duncan/Ian
Big Mike/Theo

Can Manu make it on to the court at least?

:rolleyes

Nobody in this earth can guard tony,

Tony and mason would win, with Tony dominating

manu and hill definitely-though tp would keep it close

Hill wouldn't lock Tony down, but he would do just enough to get the win for him and Manu. Manu would score on Mason every time he touched the ball.

Parker would be making layups all day with no bigmen on the court.

He says otherwise.

Parker ate that team up sides one stretch where that midget did well on him, the rest of the games Tony killed anyone.

I'd take Hill and Gino. Mason couldn't guard Gino, but I'm not sure Parker could keep Hill from getting to the basket either. Parker's not exactly a lock down defender, although I think his one on one defense is a bit underrated. He's not great, but he's probably a bit better than gets credit for.

Everyone forgets that while Hill's jumpshot wasn't consistent last year, he has a good first step, can into the lane and finish above the rim.

But Gino would eat Mason up alive. Oh, and Gino and Hill could always switch off on Parker. Hill could definitely lock up Mason.

Yup. Hill would do a good job on parker. Ask cp3 and barea about his d. Interesting matchup but my money is on hill and manu

Whoever starts with the ball wins because Tony and Manu would make layups all day with no big guy to guard to rim.

manu and hill. not tony's fault either. at the end of the day, mase can't do much except knock down open jumpers. plus both manu and hill play better D than tony and mase

Manu and George, with no fault to Tony.
Mase is the weakest of the four. He has no handle. In this competition, I'd go with players that can drive and get to the rim. While Tony's easily the best of the 4, I don't think he's good enough to offset Mason.

The only chance they have is if Tony has the ball 95% of the time.

yup, Tony and Manu cancel each other out. Hill >> Mason. Hill's a balla

what I wanna know is who wins this 3-3:
Duncan, Mason, Hill vs. Dice, Manu, TP

Even though Fab's not with the team anymore.
How about TP, Ian vs. Manu, Fabricio?

How about TP, Ian vs. Manu, Fabricio?

Fabricio would get an old school asskicking, and Ian would have 2 sprained ankles in 5 minutes.

Duncan, Mason, Hill vs. Dice, Manu, TP

What about 5-5 ?

Duncan Ian Mason Hill Finley

Dice Blair Manu TP Bowen

I cannot give RJ for one of the team. Duncan would eat Dice and Blair with the help of Ian but Manu TP Bowen will eat Mason Hill Finley.

Mason stand on 3pt line, TP penetrate and score or pass outside :70%FG

Manu isolation and post face-up Mason: 90%FG

While I think Tony would just have a layup drill all day, Manu and Hill would win. Manu and Hill would stop the kick out to Mason as well as Mason creating his own shot. On the other hand, Manu and Hill can both get to the rim pretty well. The difference is Manu can hit that 3 and that would start to add up when trading baskets.
And much as I like Hill's defense, Tony can't really be guarded with todays hand check rules.
BTW, who is refereeing this game? If it's Joey Crawford, Tim will get a technical for watching the game...
