Next Cowboys coach could be... (http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/111853-next-cowboys-coach-could-be)

Unless the Cowboys (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/6) go deep into the playoffs, Wade Phillips is gone. Jones will have the most attractive job opening next offseason and look at these candidates: Mike Shanahan, Bill Cowher, Tony Dungy, Mike Holmgren and Jon Gruden. They've all won at least one Super Bowl. Shanahan once replaced Phillips in Denver. He's the favorite to replace him in Dallas.

Shanahan or Cowher.

Dungy is done with coaching for life.

Gruden drove Dungy's Bucs team into the ground after that one SB win.

Holmgren, maybe if Jerry can feed him enough Taco Bell.

Replacing Phillips with Shanahan would be a bigger personnel upgrade than replacing Romo with Tom Brady.

This I can agree with...fucking hate Wade Phillips.

i hope we dont go after anyone of those guys, we need to just stick within or organization instead of going the Redskin route and have the coaching carousel cause that wont work.

Unless he completely shits his pants the first day and leaves shards all over the media table on day 1, we need to hire Garrett and give him a few years.

I do like the Garrett idea, but I really think Cowher or Shanahan could do a good job with these guys.

You don't watch much football, do you? The Cowboys have been talking coaching change since last season...Everyone knows that after this year, Phillips probably won't be back..media is just getting a headstart because it's a slow sports day.

I would love Cowher, absolutely..but I think it's going to be Shanahan, which is my second choice.

Dungy would be my first choice, but Cowher would also be amazing upgrade. I have always thought Shanahan was a bit overrated and was carried by Elway for his titles. Garret seems to be figured out by other defensive coordiantors, and seemed to succeed the most when he caught them by suprise his first year.

the only one i'd even consider is Cowher. He'd be great at instilling discipline

the exact reason I'd want him in there...you couldn't fall asleep during a Bill Cowher meeting...you'd be picking boot leather out of your ass for weeks.

Speaking of carousels and upheaval, if the cowpokes are now America's joke, what does that make the Redskins? :hat

I like the cowpokes but I'm not a big fan so.......

But the redskins/cowboys seem interchangeable based on your thread. :)

kinda hard to get a lot of catches when you're a #3 on a team that only throws the ball to one guy. Guarantee you he has better hands than Terrell Owens.

I like Miles Austin and I think he can have a breakout year but its a little early for that. Its too early to tell how good his hands are for the same reason you gave about his number of catches. When he gets more passes thrown at him and on a consistent basis, then we can see how good he can be.
