Vitali Klitschko and Chris Arreola have reached an agreement to fight on Sept. 26 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, according to a reliable source.

Arreola turned down an offer to fight THE RING’s No. 1-rated heavyweight and the WBC titleholder on Sept. 12 because he felt he wouldn’t have enough time to prepare but accepted a second offer to fight two weeks later.

Klitschko thought he had a deal in place to defend his belt against David Haye on Sept. 12 in Germany but Haye decided to fight Nikolai Valuev instead, which opened the door for the undefeated Arreola (27-0, 24 knockouts).

Klitschko (37-2, 36 KOs) has fought twice at Staples Center, losing to Lennox Lewis because of a cut but proving his toughness in 2003 and stopping Corrie Sanders the following year. The Ukrainian is 2-0 in his comeback after a four-year hiatus.

The will be Arreola’s first opportunity to fight for a major title.

The brawler from Riverside, Calif., rated No. 6 by THE RING, has never fought at nearby Staples Center. He is coming off a fourth-round knockout of Jameel McCline in April.

David Haye is a bitch ducking the Klitschko's after talking all that shit..

Haye runs his mouth, then just runs

Your weekly random thoughts …

• Although the way David Haye and trainer/manager Adam Booth went about snubbing Vitali Klitschko in favor of Nikolai Valuev was underhanded and unprofessional, it may turn out to be a smart move because Haye has a way, way, way better chance to beat Valuev than Klitschko. After all, Valuev couldn't deal with the movement of the ancient Evander Holyfield, who is much slower, much older and not nearly the puncher that Haye is.

But the way Haye dealt with Klitschko was pathetic. Had Haye simply taken one deal over the other without all the drama, that would be one thing. No problem.

Instead, he strung Klitschko along for weeks while talking crap about him -- and his brother, Wladimir Klitschko, before bailing on him, too, last month -- only to double-deal behind his back and then pull out of a fight that had been agreed upon. I talked to Booth, and frankly, I didn't believe him when he said they didn't have a deal. His story sounded like the dog had eaten his homework. I've followed this process every step of the way, and I believe Klitschko's team of Bernd Boente and Shelly Finkel when they say they had a deal. Say what you want about them, but they are professionals, they've negotiated a zillion fights, and they made a compelling case that the deal was done.

The ironic thing here is that Haye, who hasn't fought since November, against a faded Monte Barrett, has never accomplished anything of note as a heavyweight to have deserved a title fight in the first place -- except run his mouth and make himself look like a fool. He had fights with both Klitschkos on a silver platter. There are a lot of heavyweights who would give anything for a shot at one of them. Haye had a chance at both and blinked twice, punking out and running away like he was scared. Ultimately, Haye only talked the talk and couldn't bring himself even to try to walk the walk.

IT's a decent fight but Haye is a coward, now i think looking to get a belt the easy way, before he has to step up with the Klitschkos. He literally talked his way into getting a fight he never earned then chickened out of it, not just once but twice..

Name 10 fighters besides the Klits in the HW division that would beat Haye.

I'll wait............ Why should he have to earn it if you know he'd beat everyone's ass? Everyone knows he'd kick everyone's asses at HW. This HW division is absolutely pathetic, the only quality fighters are the Klistchkos who are both boring as hell. Don't try to tell me that 11 rounds of jabbing and then a TKO is exciting. Wlad Klitsckho could easily KO his opponents within maybe even the first round but he's too scared to. Ever since his ass got KO'd against Sanders and had his older brother fight him he hasn't been the same.

I guess Haye would have to earn it by fighting more bums for a few more years yah?

The contract between Wlad and Haye were like this:

Wlad-Haye was to take place in Germany, there is NO way Haye is going to win by a decision there. The only way he wins is by KO which is hard considering Wlad fights like he's scared. Haye would've made VERY little from this fight, most of the money was going to Wlad. So Haye wasn't getting shit for this fight. Haye's team had to let Klitschko's team have almost full control of the contract just to even fight Haye.

Last but not least the BS 3 fights.

Had Haye beaten Wlad in their first fight, he'd automatically would've had to have fought Vitali. Had he beaten Vitali he would've had to fought Wlad again.

Lets review shall we?

Haye's camp has to give most of the control to the Klitschko camp just to make the fight happen. Haye doesn't get shit for the fight, the fight is in Germany the only way Haye wins is by KO, if Haye wins against Wlad he's got to fight Vitali, and if he beats Vitali he still has to fight Wlad again. Even with all that shit the Klitsckho team was hesitating (lol).

BS contract right? So he faked an injury to get out of it.

Now Haye is fighting Valuev for a belt, you know what happens when he beats Valuev? He becomes the WBA belt holder, Wlad and Vit. Klitschko can't say Haye hasn't done anything in the HW division.

Remember that BS contract before? It's gone. Wlad and Vitali have to agree upon a fair contract since Haye is a belt holder which allows Haye to actually have a say in things. Haye makes WAAAAAY more money thanks to him holding a belt, it makes things so much easier.

And yes Haye has said this himself, he plans on fighting either Klitschko should he defeat Valuev.

Haye knows the Klistchkos will be extremely tough, it's a smart move for Haye.

How the hell do i know this exactly? he has beat nobody of merit whatsoever, yet. You wanna crown someone with 0 wins on his record basically in the Heavy division..

Everyone knows he'd kick everyone's asses at HW.

See above

This HW division is absolutely pathetic, the only quality fighters are the Klistchkos who are both boring as hell.

Where is it written you have to be like a house of fire with excitement to be a great fighter and champion. Lennox Lewis was a technical fighter, so was Larry Holmes. And Haye has done what in the ring as a heavyweight that would be classified as exciting? Other than talk shit and run like hell in the other direction..

I'll wait......

Don't try to tell me that 11 rounds of jabbing and then a KO is exciting.

Wlad is a great technical boxer and a champion that has been on top a long time. I respect him and what he has accomplished. I love the sport enough to not change the channel if someone is not out there swinging for the fences every round.. He also is a class act who takes care of it in the ring, not with the media..

Haye raped everyone at the Cruiser Weight except for that one guy he fought early in his career

Who the hell cares about CW? It's a nothing division, never has it been worth a damn at the Box Office. How many mega fights in the history of boxing took place in that division? Haye has proven he can run his mouth like Ali, yet when time came to put up or shut up, jammed his tail up his ass and headed the exit. Bailed on the Wlad fight, crying about an injury, had a deal for the Vitali fight, turned it down. He is now talking about winnning a portion of the belts then going back to the UK with it. I think his plan is to, parade around the UK with a belt acting like he is the legit champ but when time comes to fight Wlad or Vitali, make excuses as to why he can't. Don't believe me, listen to his recent interviews. Haye has gone from a man that was saying "Anywhere anytime, i will fight these guys, i can KO them both and become the man" to "If i get a piece of the belts i can take it back to the UK and be on more equal terms contract wise with the brothers" He is scared fucking shitless. I dont' believe he ever intended to fight either of them..

Arreola has a chance if he comes in shape. If he is hitting the menudo and tortillas though, Vitali will destroy him.

I doubt Arreola can come in shape he was having weight issues. Which is why he turned down the fight the first time. If he's able to come in great shape he has a chance. but if he goes into the fight overweight...

R.I.P. Arreola.

+1

Which is why I expect Vitali to win the fight handily.

Could be a carbon copy of his fight with Sam Peter if Arreola is overweight
