All it takes for it to rain is for me to get my hair styled at the salon. If you all want to chip in and send me there, I will go. :D

Rain here in SA? Seriously? Please tell me it's more than a "slight chance of rain." Our house never gets rain in SA:depressed

I'll believe it when I see it.

mrsmaalox
07-30-2009, 02:15 PM
I should run out and have my car washed. That'll seal the deal.

That only creates a target for birds. Well, for my car, anyway.

Its going to rain, but the real big stuff is going to miss us to the north. Its going over the meat of the recharge zone though.

lebomb
07-30-2009, 02:48 PM
No kidding.............looks like its trying to burn up in the atmosphere before it hits the ground now. Uhhhhhh!!!

Spursmania
07-30-2009, 02:51 PM
Well there's these uugly vultures about 7 of them that perch on our rooftop right before it rains. It's windy here now, and the vultures are around. Maybe there's hope, please God.

Yup. It looks to crack against the San Antonio Weather Dome. It looked like a solid wall until it got about a half a county away, and it looks like it's fracturing. I hope I'm wrong.

At least the overcast is keeping the temperature down again like yesterday.

angel_luv
07-30-2009, 02:53 PM
It is getting dark over here at Rolling Oaks mall. I expect to hear rain on the roof soon.

angel_luv

I don't have an umbrella or a hoodie on me to keep dry with. My guess is it starts pouring in about 15 minutes, just as I am leaving the building for work.

Well, I came down to SA last night so the house in Round Rock got a good soaking today. Maybe you should pay me to head back to Austin so it'll rain here today. :lol

MannyIsGod
07-30-2009, 03:14 PM
Its really not that bad - there's a solid wall of light rain behind these cells and the SW complex is building to the NNE. Plus theres a small cell blowing up right over my house and making it pour right now. :)

Spursmania
07-30-2009, 03:16 PM
Nope-off 1604 blanco and Huebner, just a few drops, nothing to write home about. Maybe there's still hope. It is dark outside.

Time for me to hit the reverse jinxage..............Its not going to rain at all, I guarantee it and book it!!!

LOL

Looking at the radar it's like there is a force field around San Antonio...It literally split and went on both sides of us when it hit the county line.

Just bad timing. They ended up losing a lot of their inflow about 40 miles out. Storms only live so long when there's not much energy in the atmosphere. Be glad we got plenty of rain on the recharge zone and temps were down. Also, there is that area of rain heading in as well.

CosmicCowboy

Well, the good news is that the ranchito is in the northwest tip of Atascosa county and it looks like it is about to get pounded...

It's done that 4-5 times on well developed lines of solid radar yellow this summer.

[Shhh. Don't tell the weather gods, but there's another small line developing quickly behind it. Keep your fingers crossed people]

Yeah - and actually those areas need the rain way more than SA proper does. We here need more rain over the recharge zone but the ranchers who can't feed their cows are the ones who really need the rain.

Man...that northern piece that split off and went almost due east couldn't have missed me by more than a mile. Second string looks to be breaking up, too. Move along. Nothing to see here.

I used live in Tucson...and San Antonio, you are no Tucson.

It's raining again on my side of town along with thunder and lightning. And my dog's tail is down, so that's a good sign!
