Here are my list of extensions:
Adblock PLus
AVG Safe Search
ChromaTabs Plus - Just go this and I LOVE it. It colors the tabs according to the color of the website and makes it easier to see them. Awesome. I use "pick the most frequent color from the website" option.
Copernic Desktop Search - Home Connector - I'm not sure how well this really works. :blah
Download Statusbar - Organizes the downloads within the proper Firefox window instead of opening a new window with the downloads. Love this.
Google Gears - Haven't used this to be honest.
NoScript - Essential. Prevents sites from running scripts without permission through your browser. It kind of sucks to use, but the trade-off is worth it to be more secure.
Tab Mix Plus - Amazing. Allows complete customization of how tabs open in Firefox.

Pretty much the same, Adblock Plus and Noscript are a must.

Some things are defunct.
Xmarks syncs bookmarks between different browsers (Good for home/work/school PC/laptop syncing or syncing across OSes)
WOT identifies known malicious/bogus sites by a user rating system. Do a google search for ringtones and it will red all the links that are trash (which is like 75% of all ringtone sites). Checks all links from anywhere.
Update notifier can auto-update addons without annoying prompts.
StumbleUpon is the greatest thing known to internet browsing and a way to waste massive amounts of time. It's a social bookmarking thing. Mark your interests down and you can stumble onto random sites that contain your interests. Can also send web pages to your friends really easily without using email/text/phone.
PDF download so that PDF pages don't halt the system.
Bunch of aesthetic things, look them up.
Noscipt and adblock are pretty much standard by this point.

I dunno, I use it to mass download lists of links and stuff. It can download every picture on a web page, has a download accelerator and a few other things. I dont download from rapidshare/megaupload a lot.

antbar, grab all the flv's off any site, especially great for megavideo, download it straight to your hd, and then you dont get that 60 min viewing time limit per 24 hours

NoScript kept crashing my browser. I had to throw it out. :td

Weird. Error message? You should find a mozilla forum and post it, they are highly likely to fix it.
I'll probably do that. I just downloaded the latest Firefox update, 3.5.2. Maybe NoScript will work better with this update.

Noscript
BetterPrivacy to get rid of Flash Cookies
Also, I do not accept third-party cookies and delete all cookies when Firefox is closed. This still does not get rid of Flash Cookies, hence the BetterPrivacy addon.

Sorry for the bump, but I'm looking for some more up to date add-ons seeing the last post was made in August.
Right now I just use Ad-Block Plus. Best add-on ever.

URL fixer is good if you sometimes make typos.
