Knicks Claim Williams off Waivers (javascript:newwind('http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Aj0VzGxUzVcY0kW7n60nxyO8vLYF?slug=ys-freeagentbuzz072509&prov=yhoo&type=lgns','11'))

The New York Knicks claimed point guard Jason Williams off waivers Friday from the Los Angeles Clippers, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. The Knicks have until Aug. 6 to negotiate a contract with the 10-year NBA veteran. Williams actually retired on Sept. 26, 2008, from the Los Angeles Clippers despite never playing in a game with the club after being signed as a free agent a month earlier.

The Knicks just cant resist being stupid.
This ^. The guy has always been garbage. You'd see glimpses of talent, followed by attempting to make it on the next 'And1' video in the middle of an NBA game, then he'd throw it away like ten times in a row. He should do everyone a favor and fade back into the wave of retired mediocre white point guards. That is unless White Panther is a human turn-over machine, sent from the past to fuck the Knicks.

Oh, and he was the king of pulling up for an almost half court three, on a fast break, with open teammates, and he would air-mail it. It's nutty that he stuck in the league as long as he did.

I remember the television commericial they ran with cuts of him & CWEBB on court for the Kings blended with file footage of two little boys in "little league" football uniforms...under the soundtrack of "The Dukes of Hazzard" sung by Waylon Jennings. It was a gasser.

Not a bad pickup for a mediocre Knicks team that's just trying to tread water until next year's free agency period. I like this a lot more than their flirtation with some of the other point guards like Sessions with multi-year contracts.

Can you imagine that idiot Riley sitting down face-to-face with Smush, I mean Tinsley and buyin' it?
