If you missed it, First Take has a rerun immediately following this show, so look for it around 12:35.

Since last season? Probably when he hits some game winning shots, I remember he was called Roger "Money" Mason then. Before he came to SA I've read some articles about him, and the word "Money" was never mentioned.

After his performance in the playoffs last year, I can't imagine why anyone calls him Money.

Too bad the host didn't ask him any questions about the recent acquisitions and the prospects for the upcoming season.

thanks for the link, Mel_13.

I really hope Mason doesnt have a Udoka type year. We need his clutch shooting.

Thanks, Mel. Nice interview. Mason definitely has a great attitude. Like to hear that he's still confident and ready for next season.

I have a feeling next year could be a big year for Mason. He'll have the all-important "year under his belt" and as long as he doesn't get thrown into the point guard fiasco again, he should have more room to flourish as a shooter with the additions of Jeff and Dyce. If he can manage to make the Three-Point Shootout again, that has to mean good things for the Spurs.

considers himself the best 3pt shooter in the league. i know shooters are all supposed to have this mentality, but it was still nice to hear him say it.

esp. since he answered the question calmly and not in a chest thumping bravado kind of way

It would have been nice if he had made a couple of those "3's" in the playoffs. He disappeared on us. That was horrible. Did he even make 1 ? Against Dallas ?

Not that he doesn't have so much pressure on him, I expect him to be better. Besides, he is in a contract year. :)

He could not possibly be worse than he was in the playoffs.

I think Mason is going to have a great year.

Mason should have a solid year if he's playing SG. The PG experiment is what messed him up last year.

Agreed! He'll beast on the 3s because he will not be relegated to PG duties for this season.

Bullshit! He played spot minutes at PG all year last year and it wasn't a problem until the playoffs? He choked. Plain and simple.

So did I! In fact, I started calling him "Mo Money".

I'm not sure anyone in particular can claim it though, I think a bunch of people started calling him Money around the time he started hitting game winners. :lol
